Until now, Cael never thought too hard about the fact that he could never FEEL the flow of time. Not on the same level on which he could feel the surrounding winds during flight.
Even if he sped up or slowed down time around himself, it didn't seem like time flowed differently for him—only for the rest of the world.
At first, Cael thought it was a matter of practice. He spent a week trying to grasp that feeling of time, hoping that it will bring him closer to the mana of time. Then he spent another.
It made no difference.
News from the outside world still reached Cael, as usual. Mimi was sad to be away from Cael, but bore each day of their separation with the same lack of patience as every other day—as if time mattered not at all. Ginevra kept herself busy with her own training to avoid missing Cael too much.
The blood-gathering plan progressed without Cael's input, too. No Starspawns appeared in reach for Cael to beat.
