Together with his Mage's Mark, Cael got two invitations.
"Both kings want to see me in private," Cael mused. "Archbishop, the Prime Minister wasn't downplaying their greed for powerful mages."
The old man clicked his tongue. "Their sinful nature would play for you, young man. Just be careful to not get contaminated by their vices… Gods know you already have more than enough! For shame, for shame," he shook his head. "If we only weren't fighting against greater demons, I'd consider it my duty to bring you to light."
Cael gave the Archbishop a sour look. 'As if you really care, old man,' he thought. 'I can sense your lies… You are just as greedy as they get. But at least you are smart enough to work against Starspawn. You are also leaving soon.'
The Archbishop really did. He had more than enough to do in the Kingdom of the Bear.
Cael, on the other hand, had a prime opportunity to spread his word to two more kings.
