What Ginevra didn't see in her razor-sharp focus and fire-hot anger was that the drops of blood that fell on the floor from the ejderha's hand didn't simply stay there.

They moved. Slowly, but surely, they went towards Mimi's body. Although it wasn't moving at all, and her eyes were glassy and unblinking, they looked and saw.

The wound in Mimi's chest hurt terribly. It destroyed her heart and wounded her lungs. She couldn't breathe. It was agonizing—and also didn't matter. Mimi didn't really have organs in the first place.

She just needed to rest a bit.

Mimi's eyes saw Ginevra's hand grab the physical ejderha's shoulder, and the frost that spread from them.

Inside Mimi, a surge of hope grew from the sight of Ginevra's smile. She was so tired and hurt right now that she could barely think, but knowing that Ginevra was going to win, Mimi could rest easy.
