บท 225: The break and the next challenge

The bull-headed construct finished spinning and took notice of the annoying pest on its leg. It raised its club for a swing, but Cael was faster. As soon as the construct stopped moving, Cael already jumped off it and dashed behind the nearest column.

He ran and ran from a column to a column, dashing from one side of the hall to another, while the construct over and over brought its giant metal club down, only to miss. Each strike that landed on the smooth marble floor left deep crevices in the stone, and after each strike, the construct had to spend a few seconds pulling its club back up.

Now that Cael didn't need to be a distraction, he reached the exit in no time. The mysterious door opened from a single push, and Cael dashed inside together with German.

The door immediately closed behind them, cutting the couple from the first test. But this, Cael found by looking around, wasn't the second test yet—but neither was it the end of the trials.
