*~*Rika's POV*~*
I thought that it would just be Reagan and I until the others arrived. That it would be him and me talking or just sitting there in silence like we often did. However, there was someone that wanted to come and talk to us. Well, three someones actually.
There were two men and a woman that walked toward us in the morning light. They looked determined, but not at all angry. If anything, they were smiling and trying to make sure that they didn't mess up. I was curious as to what they had to say.
"Hi." The man in the lead, someone that was probably about our age, said as he was close enough. And he was definitely a human, there was no mistaking his scent.
"Hi." I said as I lifted my head from Reagan's shoulder. I had been leaning against him in a comfortable and familial way. "Can we help you with something?"
"I hope so." The man that had spoken smiled at me. "My name is Hector, and I wanted to talk to you about something. You are Reagan and Rika Gray right? Everyone on campus knows who you are."
"Yeah, for better or for worse, everyone knows who we are." Reagan said as he sat up straighter. "What is it that you need from us?" He always spoke as if he were trying to be diplomatic. At least, that's how he had been lately.
"Well, you see, we want to work with you."
"Work with us?" I was partially perplexed. "We don't have anywhere that we work, so I don't know what you mean, Hector." I said as I looked into his green and brown eyes, they were a strange mix, not hazel but like the colors were more separated than that. If I hadn't already been able to tell that he was human, I would think that he was Fae or something. Everything else about him was pretty normal. His dark brown hair, lightly tanned complexion, medium build. Even his height was human normal. He was only five feet ten inches tall, a little taller than me.
His group was the same as well. The other man was the same height as him, but he had normal looking blond hair and green eyes, not pale, but not tanned either. Another medium build, not athletic but not heavy either. The woman with them was about five foot six with brown hair and eyes. She was thin, but not muscled at all. They were just plain and normal humans, nothing else at all.
"Well, Princess Rika, w..we wanted to start a sort of organization or club with you." I felt my eyes going wide. It was shocking that he would mention this when Reagan and I were talking with the others over the summer. We had talked about how we needed to join some groups and clubs so that we could foster a better connection with the humans. Now, here these three were wanting to start one with us. What better thing could we ask for?
Well, there was the fact that we needed to know that they had noble intentions and that they weren't going to cause problems for us in the long run. We wanted to make things better between us and the humans. We wanted them to accept and understand us. And starting a half assed club wasn't the way to do that. If we did this, it would need to be something very in depth and well thought out.
"I can see that you are wary." The woman said calmly. "My name is Samantha, Sam, and I want you to know that we have thought about this a lot since last year. We are also all taking that new Supernatural History class. We want to do this because we want fewer people to be afraid of you. You might not remember me, Princess Rika, but you saved me once. Last year, when those bombs were on the campus, you got me out of harm's way. And you, Prince Reagan, you saved these two when you evacuated their building."
"She's right." The other man said as he spoke up. "My name is Dale, and I was in the building that had the most bombs. If it wasn't for you and your friends, we would all have died. We owe you our lives." He paused as he looked at me and Reagan.
"You see, we want to make things better. We have no problem with you being here, but we know that others still aren't as accepting, even with all that you have done for the school. And we think that starting a new club will be the best option."
"A new club?" Luka said as he and the others walked up.
"Oh?!" Hector, Dale, and Sam jumped a little at the interruption, but they smiled at the newcomers.
"Ah, it's you. More of the people that we wanted to talk to." Hector was smiling at them all. "You are Luka, Levi, Alyssa and Alexandria Asher-Conrad."
"Yes, we are." Luka nodded. "What kind of club are you talking about?" He sat on Reagan's other side while the others took their seats around the area.
"Well, we want to foster better relations between the human students and the nonhuman students. We know that your group isn't the only group of nonhumans here, and we want to make things easier for everyone. We want something that will help people to understand that you are nice, good, and helpful people. We want to organize events, like social things, that will get us all to get together and become better friends and acquaintances."
"What sort of events?" Alexa asked excitedly.
"Well, I was thinking about a Halloween dance." Sam gushed as she stepped closer to Alexa. "The humans can come in costumes, and some of you all could come in your other forms. Or in other costumes."
"Hmm, that sounds interesting, we might do that." Levi said as he thought about it. "Though, not a lot of us have a different form that we can show to others."
"Y..you don't?" Hector looked like he was at a loss. "B..but aren't you werewolves?"
"Yes, but that means that we have a wolf form. What you humans think of as werewolves, like in the movies, is exceedingly rare for our people." I explained to him. "Actually, there are only two people in the world that can do that at the moment, and that is Reagan and our father." This made the three humans look at Reagan with awe.
"That is so cool." Sam gushed at him. "I would love to see it, but if that is too personal, we understand. St..st..still, can w..we start this club with you all? We will handle all the paperwork with the school, and we promise that we won't do anything that goes against what you want. We can meet about this again, talk it out a little as we plan some things out."
"I think it sounds like a good idea." I nodded and looked at my brother next to me. "Reagan?"
"Yeah, I agree. We were already talking about things like this. We want to build more trust and understanding with the humans and our people. So this works out great for us. You are actually helping us out here a lot, really you are."
"Wonderful." Hector looked like someone had just given him his favorite toy for Christmas while also telling him that he had every dream come true at the same time. He was like a little kid and an ecstatic adult at the same time.
"Thank you all so much." Dale beamed. "We will get the paperwork started soon. Should we meet again to talk about this?"
"How about tonight? You can come to our place and talk." Reagan said calmly. "We can all meet there as a group and talk about the ins and outs of the club, what we want and things like that. We can order some take out and talk it over."
"Wow, you would let us come to your place?" Sam's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of her head, it was funny, really, but also a little much.
"Yeah, I think that it will be best to talk privately about it. Here, I will give you my number, and you can text me later. I will give you my address as well. Like you said, we need to work together." Reagan was the first to offer this, but I gave them my information as well. As one of the two 'leaders' that everyone saw in us, I needed to be a part of this as much as my brother was.
Things were decided that we would all go to my brother's tonight, and we would order a bunch of take out while we talked about this new group that we were going to be starting. I knew that it was important, I just didn't know if I was ready to be around everyone. Especially where my brother and Luka could corner me and make me talk about how I had been feeling. I would need to be on my guard.
I thought about this evening all throughout the day. It just wouldn't leave my mind alone. And I was thoroughly worried about it even by the time that I was heading home in the afternoon. I wasn't dreading the meeting itself, that would be fine. It was being with my brother and the others, practically trapped there with them all, that was giving me pause. I just felt like they were going to try something, like getting to the bottom of my issues.
