บท 22: Rei's return
A few weeks have passed since Teles moved to our village, and I'm glad how well things have been working out lately. Teles took my advice, doing requests the villagers have posted in the town square, thanks to her teleportation ability, she can do certain things faster than I could, people seem to be warming up to her and everything, trusting her, and actually looking at her like a normal town citizen (literally, they were still scared of looking at her at first.) Of course, there are still some stubborn residents who still don't want an ender-girl like Teles around, even though she looks nothing like those monsters, so I don't fully see half the suspicion, but the people who actually do like her are a way bigger majority than the ones who don't want her around. (Thank goodness...)
While Teles is working, Im kinda just doing my own thing around my base, I don't really need to do tasks anymore cause I'm already trusted by the town, and I shouldn't help Teles with her tasks because it shows that she really is trying to be nice to the people, without just putting on a show for me.

My base was close to a mountain, I wondered if I could make a mine shaft out of it, so I got my pickaxe and dug through the wall, but I was wrong, it was just a small cave filled with lava.... wait a minute.... I just had an idea, I collected water in a bucket and made a pool in the lava cave, I opened the cave a little and planted bushes and other decorations in the dirt around the opening. I then placed my hand in the water, and it was warm thanks to the nearby lava, now of course I placed glass blocks around the lava so it doesn't drip into the pool, and BOOM I created a hot spring, nice.
Usually, temperatures don't matter in Minecraft, besides getting burned by lava or fire, you don't get hypothermia if you stay in the snow, and you don't get heat stroke if you stay in the desert, I guess it's just because of the game mechanics, but If I made this when I was playing the game, this wouldn't matter, but I'm done thinking about my old Minecraft experiences, it was time to simply enjoy what I just created! I put my gear into a chest I crafted and dipped into the springs.

The hot spring is amazing, I've never been so relaxed since I came here, The water went up to my shoulders, but while soaking there was something on my mind, it is what Teles told me a long time ago, and it is still sticking in my mind, is xp the only way to save these monsters?
My self-reflection was soon held to hold, when I heard someone approaching, was it Teles? I then saw white hair, wait is that Rei??? How did she find me here?
Rei saw me in the springs and said "oh I think I will come back later then..." trying to respect my privacy.
"Hey, it's cool, why not Join me Rei, the water is beyond fine," I said,
"umm I don't know..." She hesitated
"I insist, there is a roof over the pool, so you shouldn't burn in the daylight, stay a while let's talk" I really haven't seen rei since the wolf encounter. After talking her into it, she stripped and got in the springs with me, I could tell she enjoyed the waters. You know, for a skeleton mob, she looked absolutely NOTHING like a skeleton. Rei had long white hair, silver eyes, and some "ahem" interesting body proportions if anything she was healthier than some of the people I see in the village, but despite these looks, I knew she still would set ablaze if she stepped in the sunlight, so I decided not to judge her about it, I know she had to go out of her comfort zone to get into the new comfort zone. (talking about the hot springs of course)
"You weren't kidding," Rei said, "these waters really are great!"
"mhm! So what brings you to the village anyway? How did you find me?" I asked her.
"I mean, when we met we weren't far away from this village with the walls, so I assumed you lived here, I wanted to talk to you again." She explained to me
"wait, how did you get past the walls? or past the guards? They would know if someone was still a monster." I said curiously.
"oh simple, I dug under the walls, and tunneled over to your base!" Rei said proudly "looks like I got lucky, but with a base that stands out this much, I kinda just thought of you!"
(wow she's good!)
"wait, so no one knows your over here!?!?" I said worried
"just you and me, and with that tunnel over there, I can visit you without anyone noticing!" Rei explained
"oh well alright" I gave in "I just hope no one finds out I have another monster with me in this village, no offense of course!"
"and if they do, I have a plan, I brewed an invisibility potion before I got here, and I then can just escape through my secret tunnel near your base," Rei explained
wow, she can mine and brew potions? She might be more human than Teles
"wow, smart!" I exclaimed.
I then proceeded to ask Rei what she told me the last time we met, why was she a human girl with the abilities of a skeleton, though, besides shooting arrows, do skeletons have any positive quirks? I mean anyone could shoot a bow with practice, but all I've seen her do was burn during the day, which was more of a curse than a blessing in my opinion.
Rei looked a bit concerned, but she knew that she promised to explain things to me, she decided to tell me in a little bit, saying this probably isn't the best time to tell me this right now, I agreed and decided to learn about it after we get to my base.
Remembering how Explorers became Enderman, I was scared to find out what Rei had to go through, but If I wanted to solve this case, I needed all the info I needed.
