Morne's mind worked as fast as his tongue, his thoughts entirely devoted to reading the Runner and commanding his undead appropriately.

As it had been before, such a thing was much easier said than done. The Runner acted and reacted at a speed that boggled the mind. His Sense could just barely keep up with it, and from seeing it to thinking of a response, to giving the command, Morne's rebuttals took upwards of two full seconds to see through.

That didn't sound like much, but when the two fighters could move as fast as these, Morne might as well have been trying to dodge lightning.

His undead weathered strike after strike, taking two to four for every one it managed to give, and if not for the fact that it didn't need organs besides the brain and didn't feel pain, it might have fallen minutes ago.
