บท 96: Intimacy

Dante was stunned. Fate? Fated encounter? No wonder Beatrice looked embarrassed as she talked about this, because this was not something he expected to hear from someone like her, even in his wildest dreams. 

He had initially thought up many reasons as to why she might have decided to accept him as her partner, whether it was business, desire, or even some dark, hidden motive. To hear that it was a result of her own metaphysical expectations and beliefs floored him for a bit. 

Beatrice saw his look and her face became a bit flushed. "You probably think it's childish and lame, right?" 

Dante snapped out of his stupor and then nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I do. It's also kind of weird too." 

Beatrice's face fell and her expression became gloomy, practically screaming 'dammit, I knew it!' to Dante.
