บท 56: Chapter 28.3 : Escalation
Just a moment before the nuclear bomb went off, Diana instinctually raised her hand in front of her face, seemingly hoping to protect herself against the danger that was coming her way.
Sadly though, this did not help in the slightest, as merely a moment later, the nuclear explosion surrounded Diana and began quickly annihilating her flesh.
Diana's feet sunk into the ground supernaturally, as they somehow managed to hold Diana to the ground and not allow her to go flying.
If she was in her best condition mentally, Diana would have quickly allowed this to happen so that she could get sent further away from the epicenter of the attack, sadly though, right now she desperately hung to this piece of ground,
Although Diana was not yet aware of this fact, after her transformation, Diana was able to near instantly heal the entirety of her body, but right now, in front of the enormous destruction of a nuke, she was completely helpless.
At this moment, Tempo Symphony, who like Diana not too long ago, was undergoing a transformation currently.
But even so, at this moment Diana, as well as her healing, suddenly sped up.
Only a fraction of a moment later, Tempo Symphony suddenly began punching the explosion, using it to quickly get its speed up to its maximum limit.
This helped Diana, as well as, of course, her healing, speed up even more.
Thanks to this, nearly the entirety of Diana's body had managed to heal itself.
Sadly though, the good times were not meant to last, as a moment later, the true brunt of the attack revealed itself, as another nuclear bomb then landed onto the military base, causing Diana's body to once again begin melting under the power of the explosion.
Even though Diana used everything at her disposal to try to resist the attack, even Hamon, which she very much disdained in the past, it all seemed to be hopeless, as Diana's body continued melting and evaporating.
Diana's healing and extreme resistance also played a great part in this, otherwise a normal human would have died a million times over by now.
Thanks to her stand, Diana's healing speed, which was already far beyond any vampire, became even more exaggerated, seventeen times more to be exact.
This, alongside Diana's incredibly resistant body and hamon allowed Diana to persist the might of the nuke for just under ten seconds.
By the time ten seconds had passed, 75 percent of Diana's body was gone, but nevertheless Diana was still alive and well, conscious of her situation.
Just a moment after that, Diana's body suddenly disappeared without any sort of rhyme or reason.

Unlike Diana, who had been able to resist the nuclear attack and remain on her feet, the moment the first nuclear bomb went off, Mikhail, who was being shielded by his stand, as well as several extremely thick sheets of steel, began melting.
Thankfully though, the metal managed to protect Mikhail from the first, as well as most terrifying part of the nuclear attack before it melted and evaporated as well.
After that, even as Mikhail sped through the air, having been sent flying by the explosion, the speed at which his body melted increased dramatically.
So much so that in a few moments, just his bones, which had been enhanced by his stand remained of his body, as the rest of it had melted away.
Rather interestingly, at the moment, Mikhail's stand, which was also a skeleton, did not seem to lose its vitality.
In fact, the opposite then happened, as bits of muscle then began emerging from its ribs.

Ever since the nuclear attacks that had taken place in Russia, the entire world was on high alert, as tensions continued rising higher and higher, far beyond the boiling point.
In fact, just like the people killed by the bombs, the tension even began evaporating.
Of course, this did not mean the tension decreased, as just five minutes after the attack, the US government declared a state of DEFCON 1, where nuclear was an extreme risk.
But even though the entirety of humanity was currently focused on this event, this did not mean that all people cared about this equally, in fact, several important people had very different reactions.

"You can rest assured sir, the Speedwagon Foundation will find the origin of these attacks and will quickly report to both you, and to world governments the moment a clue is obtained," said a man as he looked at Joseph Joestar, the oldest member of the Joestar famility still alive.
After becoming old, Joseph had become a pretty mild-mannered old man, but sadly, it seemed that the world did not want to allow this to happen, and as such, they threw two wrenches into things.
The death of his grandson, as well as this nuclear attack, both angered Joseph beyond recognition, so much so that one might think that he was worried about his enemy.
Of course, everyone can rest assured that Joseph does not care about Diana at the moment, rather, his vision was currently placed on the huge number of deaths the attacks caused, which made his heart ache.
Then, after scolding this incompetent subordinate of his for a few more moments, Joseph finally instructed him to leave the room and leave him alone.
...
Silence.
"Why have you come here?" asked Joseph, breaking the silence.
"Since you've caused me so much trouble recently, the first person I thought about the moment I survived is you, old man, isn't that nice?" asked a female voice as a figure suddenly appeared in the room.
As he stared at the blond haired woman in front of him, who had a clearly visible Joestar birthmark sit on his desk, Joseph couldn't help but become silent.
Joseph felt no desire to talk to the person in front of him, after all, he knew that he was dead the moment he felt that faint feeling that she was nearby.
Sadly though, Joseph felt that feeling just a fraction of a moment before her appearance, making him unable to anything.
