บท 38: Chapter 38

At the parking lot, a black car braked aggressively. A blonde woman with a furious expression got off from the vehicle. She entered the hospital, mumbling. ' Young master, why do you dig a pile of problems for me every moment? Was I indebted to you in my previous life?' she got a call from him ordering her to come to the hospital to guard that boy. Noah had left Edwin, and Radin was uneasy about it. Olivia was angry because, at that time, she was outside of the city, 100 km away from the hospital. She lost count of the number of her driving offence throughout the way.

Olivia turned into a corridor to stop at an elevator and pressed the bottom. She looked around her. Beside an elderly couple, Olivia saw the back of the board shoulders. It piqued her interest, and she gawked at the man unceremoniously. Olivia admired his waist and those solid long legs. She was interested to see the face of this sexy man. She leaned sideways and went frozen in her place. ' Today is not my day!! Why on earth is this devil doing here?'

This man was the famous secretary of the Azh group in the capital. He was groomed from a young age by the head of the family. His actions always were fierce and accurate in handling his tasks. She slowly shifted to the side, far from that man. She wasn't in the mood for the battle of wits with this devil.

' Ah, really, all of the Azh group people are a descent of satan. One after the other is insane!'

Olivia thought she left her room with her left foot today! There was no reason to explain her miserable situation throughout the day except that! First thing in the morning, Olivia had received a mission to find a woman with minimal information about her. If the client were not a prominent figure in the capital, she would outright decline it. She was not some idle employee of the organisation that would do this typical job. The worst part was the target was missing for nearly 40 years! It was a little late to remember to search for her.

The elevator opened with a ding. Olivia hid behind the elderly couple and pressed the fourth level. The elevator was big enough for her to blend with other people. Upon reading her destination, she fled away from that man. She exhaled her breath relaxingly. She went to the end of the hall. Before she could get near the VIP room, a powerful wave knocked her down. She waited for an excruciating pain to strike her; instead, a warm embrace cushioned her.

Every glass in the room and the hallway shattered with a horrible sound. At the same time, electronic devices and lamps short-circuited and began beeping nonstop. Olivia opened her eyes suddenly. Her head hurt quite badly. The first thought that popped into her mind was Radin. She was worried about him. All these years of work were for him. She got up unstably. The lights were flickering in the hallway. People were all scattered on the ground. She stumbled on the flat floor. She thought she would smash her head to the ground. However, a hand grabbed her waist forcefully.

" Snap out of it. With your situation, you could not even help yourself, even less likely your master." David scolded her.

He got information about Ryu this morning after He went missing last week unnoticeably. Hence, he was rushed to the hospital to capture this rebellious young master. In the lobby, he was surprised to see the right hand of the Gashtasb family. He had a bad feeling about it. He paid extra attention to his surroundings. Because of that, he was more prepared than this woman and could think more rationally. He picked up his phone to ask for backup while slowly dragging Olivia to the safest part of the hallway.

The situations inside the room were unknown. David wasn't sure who was there besides Ryu. David was an orphan that one day Ryu picked up in the slum. He knew that the Azh family members were not ordinary humans. To the outside world, Ryu was a seventeen years old teenager, but David had seen with his own eyes that his appearance didn't change in the past ten years. He assumed Ryu was much older than that. Anyway, David was grateful towards him for giving him a better life. He would not pry into his secrets. He put the injured Olivia on the ground and strode toward the room.

Ryu's bodyguards were knocked out, lying on the floor everywhere. His complexion went more grim. He had an understanding of Ryu's power to some extent. Yet, this silence meant Ryu probably could not withstand that wave in close proximity and was wounded. He scanned the lounge. There was just a slim boy unconscious. He stepped on debris and glasses accidentally with a crunching sound. He froze in his place. Fortunately, everything was still. He relaxed his tensed body and peeked inside the room. First, he saw two men embracing each other tightly at the room's entrance. He took his gaze away from them, uninterested. He searched for Ryu. His pupils dilated to the scene in the corner. Ryu's half-body was covered in blue scales shielding a person. David had one thought at that time. He should not allow anyone to see his young master like this. He sent a text message for SOS.

Dena's mind was foggy. She didn't know where she was or what she was doing before. She opened her eyes slowly. ' What? Am I blind?' she couldn't see anything. There was a vast blackness similar to an abyss or void in front of her eyes. Dena moved her head to examine the surrounding area. It was still nothing. Usually, when someone encounters this kind of situation, he would be panicked or agitated. However, Dena was too calm. There was no sign of her childishness or bad temper. If Noah, who was constantly beside Dena these days, saw her now, he would be shocked by her change. Dena tried to move her arms and feet. She figured out that she was in a state of paralysing. Besides her head, she could not sense other parts of her body. ' Quadriplegic?' Dena guessed calmly. She didn't care about it.

Until now, she was playing the role of carefree and silly person. That was not her true colour. In her original world, Dena had everything that an average person could dream of, such as The best parent and siblings, the best figure, a beautiful face, and an intelligent mind; maybe she wasn't rich, but her family had never been negligent towards her. They didn't buy her expensive clothes or products but made up for it by being there every step of her life. She appreciated their sacrifice of time and effort for her. She tried her best to repay them by helping them and buying them gifts. At that time, she was very ignorant of worldly affairs. She understood the meaning of selfishness after her marriage. Until she was 27 years old, she didn't experience a setback. It wasn't all rainbow and sunny days. She had her share of struggles, like other people in their lives. Yet, it was after that she knew the meaning of despair.

Dena was the last child of a five-person family. Her father and mother were distant relatives who had known each other since childhood. Her mother grew up in a more unrestricted and prosperous family than her father.

Both had six siblings and were in the middle. Hence, they were transparent to their parents. Her maternal grandmother preferred boys over girls; despite that, she encouraged her last three daughters to study hard and get government jobs, and all became teachers. On the other hand, her father's financial situation was not good. There weren't keen to wait many years for income, so all of them became teachers except the one with a ten years difference from the last child. At that time, the family didn't need money and pampered him to be a doctor. Her father always regretted not having the opportunity to become one himself.

When they got married, they didn't have anything. Dena's mother had bought her dowry with her payment checks. They didn't even have a wedding. Living with the husband's family in the first two years was a costume. All of these events shaped the personality of her mother and father. They were people-pleasers. Even though their relatives insulted or looked down on them, they still did not cut off their relationship. Dena grew up in this environment. When they went on a trip, there were always some relatives with them, or they should buy souvenirs for a bunch of those families.

The opinions of those relatives influenced every aspect of her life. Her parents never once stood up to them regarding the discrimination against their children. Dena was sensitive to those eyes and behaviour. When she was six years old, she tried to oppose her grandmother on behalf of her mother. The result was everyone laughed at her and brushed her off. Hence, she never interfered with that ever again. Her personality was a quiet and cowardly girl. She never once crossed her parents. Everything she wore, or everywhere she went, was according to their wishes. Even what she studied at the university was decided by them. The result was that Dena could not judge and make a decision by herself.
