บท 78: Reign of the rightful emperor

Apparently it was called an Aeroplane.

A very intriguing piece of workmanship and magic combined.

There were a lot of things to take into consideration.

Combination of fire around and water within was risky but they had made it work.

There weren't many yet Asani mentioned it had taken years of perfecting to even get this far.

Asani, seeing his interest, had not so sneakily started pointing various things out and began speaking about it. Telling him how he came upon the idea and how he made it work.

Hearing the boy speak about it with a voice full of life, just showed how much magic meant to him.

It must have been a sole comfort in all his years away.

"-even the light is made purely out of natural resources and magic. You see the steam that comes from the fire outside is continuously being pulled by mages specializing in air and then with the help of elemental mages-''he absolutely loved it!

How adorable, he must have looked pleased because Asani was still, not sure of what to say.

''I'm happy and proud of you...even detaining me here....I can be relieved that you had something that brought you joy.

Your middle name...means hidden one, so I was afraid your mother's intention would follow you. She never wanted you to be great.''

Silently twirling a piece of his robe in his hands, he gazed in the crackling fire outside.

"Well my first means rebellious, so I guess i'll go with that.''

Chuckling, his face softened as he laid his hand on the window. Fire burning brightly behind it, a spark beginning the burn in Asani.

"Once we return you should speak to the masses, tell them that you will ascend the throne and better their future."

Journey towards his castle took longer than expected, it wouldn't surprise Acacius if Asani had slowed down the speed considerably. There is nowhere he could go that would be able to prevent the two speaking as they were flying high in the air.

''Uncle, I have to ask...what am I to do with my mother?

I barely won and that was only because of your lover's artifact."

Actively turning in a rush, he spoke without thinking. ''You met Cyra!??"

"Ah yes-''smiling slightly at the rush in his uncle's movement he continued.''she met me shortly after I started preparing for the war. She was quite incessanted I listened and she helped me greatly.

Thank you uncle for providing me with the information I needed to help win the battle.

Thanks to you and your lover I have taken back my future and that of my people. I do not know how to thank you or her enough, I realise detaining you is not the way but I had no other choice.

I hope you understand.''

''You can thank her by using her name, she doesn't belong to me or has a sole identity as my lover."It came out meaner and harsher then he intended. ''Where is she? Is she onboard, why have I not seen her?"

Intensely staring made Asani squirm in discomfort.''I hate to disappoint you but after she gave the info and the artifact she disappeared through some blue wisps.''

Blue wisps?"Can you not do that?''

''It is unheard of.

Time and space mages are incredibly rare, personally I have never met one and I lived and learned among all sorts of mages. They were mentioned in a book but the most they could do was referce the time of some low life plants?

Very helpful for medicine apparently as a needed plant could be returned to it's prime state."

Only a plant?

Acacius blinked in disbelief, he had easily turned a whole magical tree back to it's prime in his body as Adrian, while only knowing the basics Aethelstan thought in between all his other adventures.

"Just like this war we experienced there was a period of time in the past where magic fought against swords. A lot of blood was spilled, the time mages could reverse some of the wounds on the battlefield. Bad wounds that would cause death would be turned to moments before. Saving many.

Same with space as people could be transported for small distances.

It was yet another reason why the marriage between your mother and father was pushed into happening, if a child came it would link everything and everyone together.

Your mother stood no chance, she enjoyed her freedom and it being taken away from her left her sour.'' He didn't look at Asani, merely telling the story as he went, silvers of truth added to make it more believable. The outcome was on him but that didn't change the fact that Sophie had indeed disliked her life.

Content in a world of four walls where only one person disturbed her beside some maids.

Freedom in the way that no one restricted her, no Aliya that hawked her every move and as she had plenty of books and whatever she wanted she had no reason to complain.

There were shortcoming, there always were but she could look past that he quessed.

"It's understandable.''

''It isn't uncle, do not make it out for it to be.

She hurt you, squashed servants to balls to play with.

No matter how bad one's life becomes, that is and never will be the answer."

How...unexpected.

The boy's morals surely rose farther than his own ever had, would it still be the case in the future?

He won't be there for the boy to place his hope on in a matter of a few weeks.

Life has a way of taking away all the fun things that one got attached to in the teenage years.

Will he still look at and talk so vibrantly about magic when his energy and entire personality gets shoved towards conflict after conflict? No matter how small or big he will have to be the one to fix it. And like Asani mentioned, he will need to govern over the magic and sword sides together.

Changing the topic, affected by his own thoughts, he most likely appeared a little saddened.

''You must do with her as you please, I am too closely intertwined to help you in any and all matters concerning her.

Asani noticed how it was the end of their conversation, it was easy to see the change in atmosphere after having a lot of time talking.

He had gotten closer to the boy as an uncle would but he also backed off and distanced from him when boundaries were to be crossed. For example the times Asani tried to be too familiar, too understanding and too pushing on sensitive matters.

Matters that were not easily said, definitely not to the child one tried to protect.

\--

It was very much like a concert but a levitating one.

Rows of the most important people, magic and sword lineages mixed together were watching just meters away.

The entire public watched intensely on the land around and a little beneath them.

A piece of land that connected everything together, previously hidden and guarded but now a place to celebrate.

To celebrate the new future ahead, one under the leadership of Asani Aamon Axton.

A prince, joining the lineages of magic and sword together and he had gone out of his way to make it memorable in a period of little under three weeks.

Splendid, was all that needed to be said.

The cameras his nephew so dearly loved were used to make huge screens all around the clearing, so everyone had the chance to observe closely.

Countless tables filled with various ingredients, foods and complete meals.

Drinks, some he had never seen in his empire, making him wish he could go over and take a sip.

Unfortunately he was grabbing quite a lot of attention, Asani hadn't addressed anything yet.

They had gone out quite a few times and people had rapidly taken note of them merely spending an easy conversation outside stalls or something. Once he had gone out alone without a warning, within an hour Asani had searched at least a twenty mile radius.

He had thought something happened so when Asani had seen him eating a snack as relaxed as could be relieved him. After a tense conversation that is, he had gotten scolded for leaving without saying anything.

Even now he had heard some people mention the scolding with a laugh.

"You look tense, uncle.''

"Well I ,for one, am not so keen on being so surrounded.

Usually it spelled trouble.''

That stilled Asani for a little bit.

''No need to worry, everyone shall be aware of the sacrifice you made.''

Nothing else needed to be said, so he spent a little more time gazing around.

Without Lord Hawkings breathing down his neck everything had become a little easier.

Everyone was dressed their best, accessories and hairstyles topnotch. Even the people below had done their best to look lively. They had most definitely succeeded.

Faces of full joy made his own brighten as well.

Ofcoure it was Asani that grabbed a whole lot more attention, from runaway crown prince to getting crowned emperor of both nations after winning a war against his mother.

People reverend him and as customary he stood tall, benefitting his soon to be new title.

He did it better than he did in the beginning.

His entire suit came together in the colour black and gold, ofcourse to suit the inner green of his eyes, a few detail where added.

The clasps on his belt went from black to green, some tassels around his waist.

The bottons a mild green on his inner top, at one side a longer piece of material, protecting his leg from his sword. Another symbol that Asani would take over the sword empire.

He had denied it at first but Acacius had quite quickly gotten rid of it, leaving it without a doubt for the boy.

Asani looked very well put together, a cloak neatly strung together, completing the look as did gold jewelries adourning his clothes. One almost couldn't look because he was sparkled to much, even his gloves had golden lines on it.

As did he, Asani had meticulously prepared an expensive, detail orientated outfit. One that atleats somewhat matched his own, showing that they were family and no one could go against it.

His wittish/silver robe, splitted near his upper thigh, showing his equally withish/silver pants and cape smoothly went from silver to the same black on Asani's clothes.

Same with his jewels attached to the outfit, the hood of his cape adourned a shape like sphere in the colour of silver, coming together in a kight brownish diamong, tracing from it and the sphere where thick and thin branches. At the bottom of his hood , at both sides, were two larger brown speres like diamands.

Attached on the hood, right between his eyes was a little brown diamand, hanging from his collar where triangle shaped silver accesoires with a small moon in the middle.

Smoothly after 3 triangles did it go lower, into the vorm of the sun, atached to it two golden chains going to his rib area, Over those two were three sets of two golden chains going from one side to his chest to the other.

His belt a light gradient blue, matching the almost unnoticeable fine lines on the edges of his cloak, same lines that turned to golden the lower they went.

Unlike Asani he was only wearing a glove on one hand, combined with an outer arm gauntlet. On his other was a full of hand armor. Designed aspecially for him, intrical details were added to!

He hadn't notice Asani move until a cough galmed through the field, even the farthest person heard the stillest words that were to come.

"Asa-"Most had noticed his shock and his attempt to stop the boy but seeing his intention Asani continued as of nothing bothered him.

''CAN I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE? BEFORE WE BEGIN THERE IS SOMETHING THAT MUST BE DISCUSSED!"
