"That is the strongest man alive? He looks like one of those British clowns. You know, the ones who don't talk." said Ryuk.
'Well, I designed him after one. I thought of making him funny, but on second thought, I had a better plan. I made him serious. Since Thomas was already a funny character.' I said. 'After all, even if the world thinks that he is the strongest person on this planet, we both know that if Thomas used 'Phasing' or 'Infinite Mass Punch', he would stand no chance against him.'
"Those two abilities can defeat a fourth-dimensional being if used properly," said Ryuk. "I wonder why he is not a universal-level threat."
'Plot and character development.' I said.
"Ray, meet Uncle Nolan. He is one of my friends that I told you about." Thomas made a gesture asking me to greet him.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Ray. Your uncle said a lot of things about you." Nolan put out his hand for a handshake.
"The pleasure is all mine, Sir Nolan. Or shall I call you Domain Master?" I shook his hand.
"You seem to know about my identity?" Nolan seemed confused.
"Oh well... I know a lot about many things, and sorry to say this, but you can't just wear a mask and think that people won't recognise you." I smiled.
"Haha... Guess your uncle was not lying when he said you are more intelligent than him." Nolan laughed a bit.
"I guess we can both agree on that," I said.
Thomas was speechless.
"I was wondering if the other two will also be attending the ceremony with us?" Nolan turned towards Thomas.
"Considering the number of aliens expected to participate, it seems probable that Melissa will be present at the ceremony." Thomas folded his hands. "I am not sure about Hector. It's a fact that he hardly ever shows up for occasions like this. He always chooses to stay cooped up in his lab."
"It's surprising that there's a new Kryptonian present today, and even more so that it's Melissa's child. I had no idea." Nolan said.
"She had a child?" Uncle looked shocked.
"Yes," Nolan sighed.
"And yet she didn't tell us about this?" Uncle asked.
"No, I just found out about this." Nolan shook his head.
Melissa was the current head of the Extraterrestrial Beings. Among the Kryptonians who have survived, she is one of the three. The other is her daughter and the last one is someone who will make an appearance in the third volume of the novel.
"Is her husband someone important? I forgot about him." Ryuk asked.
'Nah, he is just a guy who got lucky.' I replied.
Even I forgot who her husband was.
"Ray, how about you go hang out with the other kids?" Thomas said.
"I'd rather not hang out with kids," I said.
"Besides, we're all wearing masks. Even if I make a friend, they won't recognize me at Paragon."
"Then why did you insist on coming here?" Thomas asked.
"I wanted to check the awakening stone," I replied.
"Take John with you, but avoid getting close to the awakening stone. The Speed Force chose you as her avatar, so it won't affect you." Thomas warned me.
"Ok," I replied. 'Finally! I can enjoy some freedom!'
I walked towards the awakening stone with John following me behind my back. I also had to search for the main protagonist in the meantime.
"John, can you keep a lookout for a kid with brown hair and black eyes. He would be about your size but way weaker since he has not awakened yet. He would be avoiding other kids and talking to adults." I whispered in his ear. "Please don't tell Alfred about it."
"Yes, young master." John puffed his chest. 'This is the first task, the young master has assigned me, I must complete it.'
"... Stop puffing your chest, you look like an idiot." I slapped my face.
"Yes!"
"By the way, why are you heading towards the Awakening Stone?" Ryuk asked.
'I am curious about what will happen if I touch it. I got my meta ability from the Cyrus Stone. I had a black status screen back then, remember? I wonder if I can awaken my original meta ability.' I said.
"What if your ability overwrites your current ability?" Ryuk asked.
'That possibility is minimal... Sigh... should I do it?' I asked.
"It is not worth the risk," Ryuk complained.
I looked at the awakening stone and sighed. I guess I will have to wait.
"Young master! I found him!" John said.
"Where is he?" I asked.
John pointed at a kid with brown hair and black eyes wearing the same mask as everyone else. He was talking to an old person who seemed to be in his eighties.
A Magic Tower Master? Is he from the spiritual arts section? That kid doesn't look like he is related to him. He is definitely not the one who started the talk. The kid doesn't have any spiritual energy surrounding him. I did write that the protagonist was trying to make big connections in the awakening ceremony but I never expected that he would talk to a Spiritual Mage. He is totally clueless.
"I guess the cut scenes were auto-corrected," Ryuk mumbled.
'Did you say something?' I asked.
"No."
"Good work, John. Let's go talk to him." I said.
We walked up to the two of them.
"Tower Master William, it is a pleasure to meet you here," I said.
"I don't quite recognise who you are. Care to enlighten me, please?" The old man looked at me with curiosity.
"I thought the electric spirits would have already informed you about me." Sparks of white lightning covered my hand.
"Yo-You are the boy with white lightning! My goodness! I never expected to meet you here either, Sir Savitar," The old man bowed lightly. "It is a pleasure to meet someone from the direct bloodline of the Flash Family."
"Who is your little friend here?" I asked while looking at the kid.
"I am Samuel. Nice to meet you, Sir Savitar." The kid put out his hand.
"Nice to meet you as well, Samuel. It seems that you haven't awakened yet. Well, I hope to see you at Paragon, my friend." I shook his hand while smiling. 'Finally found you! You fucking protagonist!'
