บท 45: _ Will be home before knowing why

Afina dreaded the words as they made their passage out of the mouth of Gia.

"Matron Valentina or Butler Baelfire." the girl had said.

Of course, it would be those two or nobody when the high house was concerned. Who else was she expecting?

Perhaps, Royal Advisor Celio. He seemed the type to not relish turning down a woman.

Matron Valentina, the witch. Her chances of getting permission when Matron Valentina was concerned were slim– very slim.

Butler Baelfire on the other hand seemed a bit more compassionate. Compassionate?

Who was she kidding?

The man was strange. Strange in a way she did not like. Questioning her about her qi, asking for her secret, and telling her to be on his side all because of her qi. He seemed more like those power-thirsty people who hide their desperation in the falseness of a smile and nicety.

"I suggest you go to Butler Baelfire." Gia suggested but when Afina glanced her way again, she added, "He's kinder."
