Edol's teammate also noticed the incoming attack and wasted no time making a mana shield to block the incoming attack. Pierre wasn't greedy with his mana, instead pouring a huge chunk of what he had left into blocking the surprise attack.

Still, it wasn't enough. The wind blade crushed through Pierre's shield before cutting deeply into the young man's armor. 

Pierre collapsed to the ground, eliciting shouts of panic from the rest of the members of their team.

A trail of blood could be seen leaking from a deep gash in the young man's armor, but it was unclear just how deeply it'd cut. Pierre's enemy stood over his collapsed body, preparing to plunge his dagger down to confirm the kill.

Pushing his enemy away, Edol whirled around to chuck one of his own daggers at his friend's foe.
