I blinked as barely hushed murmurs began to echo across the room. Jacob turned to Grigori for answers. Lise entertained Jen, while the twins were already looking like they had a plan ready to be executed. Amelie, begrudgingly, seemed to have forgiven Alset as the young Primzahl kept her head down beside the maid. And in all of this, I only had Aria giving me a wave to keep going as I, well, kept going.

"While I would like to listen to your ideas right now, let me explain the gist of it since we don't have all day to do this," I coughed, grabbing everybody's attention as I spoke. "With the Empire having won the war, we're, for all intents and purposes, fvcked unless we run and hide."

My crude language gave me glowers of disapproval from Alset and Grigori. It wasn't all proper, but it at least got the message right if the flinching was any indication of it.
