''My lady, It is shocking that she is Count Harlow's child,'' Amelia commented as she supported Isla to the bedroom.

''Is it?'' Isla glanced at her.

''My lady was thirteen when the capital gossiped about it. Marquess Salazar sued Count Harlow for sending his daughter to kill him in the imperial court of law. Everyone knew the marquess as a lusty man, and the Count was almost a fallen noble, so it was obvious that he sold his eighteen-year-old illegitimate daughter.'' Amelia narrated to her.

''How come the count still has his title?''

''He sold his legitimate daughter to the marquess as compensation. Since he and the marquess were in a contract, it was right for him to do so, though it was sad and wrong.''

''Do you pity Olivia then?'' Isla asked, which made Amelia quiet for a brief moment.

She then responded.''Her past is pitiful, but it does not justify what she did to my lady. My lady has her own sufferings but she can't see them.''

Isla nodded at her words.
