General POV
3 days later...
The scene shifts, and as we look out at the vast forest, it is obvious that nature has blessed it. While animals of all sizes and shapes roam freely, lush flowers in a variety of colors decorate the forest floor. While a herd of deer grazes in the distance, a family of rabbits nibbles on the high grass.
As we scan our eyes over the peaceful forest, we notice a predator lurking in the shadows, but it doesn't disturb the tranquility of the place. The water in the nearby stream is calm, and the wind blows gently, causing the giant hogweed plants to sway elegantly. The plants whistle a soft tune as the wind flows through them. In the midst of it all, birds chirp melodiously and frogs croak rhythmically.
We focus on a young child who is peacefully dozing off on a bed of vibrant flowers. She is peacefully breathing while she is dozing off, and each breath causes her chest to rise and fall. The child resembles a toddler. Her hair is a beautiful shade of pink and cascades down to her waist. She grinned while sleeping, drifting off into her own world.
The little girl, with her pointy ears and pink hair, slowly stirred from her slumber, rubbing the sleep from her eyes with her tiny hands. As she opened her eyes, a sense of wonder and amazement took over her face, like a new seedling that had just grown and witnessed the world for the first time. She took in the beauty of the forest around her, with its lush greenery and adorable animals scurrying about.
As she stood up, wearing a cute mini robe, she gazed at the calm waters and felt the cool breeze brushing against her skin.
Pristine girl: Wow!
she exclaimed in her high-pitched voice, her wide smile beaming even brighter. The world was reflected in her eyes, and she was reflected in the world.
She took a few steps, her small feet barely making a sound, as she explored the forest with glee.
Pristine Girl: This is so pretty!
She said to herself, a soft giggle escaping her lips. She continued to wander, her smile never fading, feeling like a bundle of joy in this magical place.
A few minutes later, she reaches a village, and an old man who was a farmer happens upon the little girl as she admires the flowers. The old man smiled and took her to the nearby orphanage, where the other children welcomed her with open arms. The little girl was so full of life and joy that everyone couldn't help but love her.

Four days later, Aeon has kept himself occupied by building a massive brick square with a window opening and doorway to replace his previous tree-filled igloo. Now that he has a huge robot body and doesn't really need to sleep, it serves more as a storage area. He's now cutting the wood from the trees he's been felling, and the trees he used to make an igloo tree are now being cut into a variety of different shapes for wooden gears and other mechanical components.
Not only that, he is also making spikey sticks and wooden stakes. If he's going to establish this location as his permanent base, he might as well build some mechanical traps, he reasons. He concentrates on the task at hand as he creates intricate, precise shapes with his enormous two-handed wide sword. He is at least able to become accustomed to cutting it, despite mistakes and broken shapes, but not yet to the level of mastery.
Simple traps like the deadfall and spring traps were assimilated by Aeon, who tried to blend them into the forest as much as possible. He created the spring trap using a different technique, such as a tripwire, instead of a spring. The flax was miraculously discovered, and after cleaning it with water and scraping it with his sword, he used it. Then, in order to twist it to create the wire, he had to construct a wooden spindle. The trap was constructed using a tripwire, numerous wooden mechanical gears, wooden stakes atop the trees, and materials that blended in with the soil and leaves. The traditional pitfall trap with wooden stakes was the last trap he designed. He positioned a lot of these traps close to his base.
Aeon also observed that his mechanical robotic hands were in like-new condition after four days. He seemed to have some kind of healing ability that he found useful, but he was too preoccupied with his projects to know how quickly he could heal.
Aeon placed a lot of traps around his base to catch any intruders, whether humans or honkai. While he had become somewhat detached from human emotions after becoming a mechanical being, he still had reservations about killing humans. The only time he had ever taken a life was when he had to defend his friend's girlfriend against a stalker back when he was still human on Earth.
With the traps in place, he decided to venture out to a nearby human city with the help of his RA. He activated the device, causing it to transform into a holographic red map. Aeon then picked up his giant cross and strapped two SMGs to his waist, marveling at how they stayed in place. He also grabbed his sword and consulted the map to find the nearest human city.
He had a specific goal in mind for this journey. Aeon needed metal and metal scraps for his projects, and while he could mine for them, he found it difficult to navigate the darkness of the caves he had created. That's why he was headed to a ruined human city—he knew that there would be plenty of metal scraps to scavenge there.
Aeon walked for what felt like hours, and finally, he saw his very first ruined city. It was a bleak and sorrowful sight; all the buildings were rubble, rusted, and crumbling to the ground. The sky scrapers were barely able to hold on, swaying with the wind, and the metal structures twisted and bent out of shape. It looked as if the city had been through a great battle or some kind of cataclysmic event. Aeon felt a pang of sadness in his chest as he gazed at the devastation before him, imagining the humans of this world fighting for their lives against the Honkai.
He shook off those feelings and got straight to business. He walked down from the mountains and made his way to the ruined city. Once he entered the city, it was eerily quiet, with no signs of life anywhere. The apocalyptic atmosphere was so thick that he could almost feel like he is in some sort of movie. He looked around and saw remnants of objects and inventions left by humanity, but nothing of value to him except for metal scraps. He then found lots of broken cars and was happy that he was able to find metal, but then realized he had no way to carry it back to his base.
Aeon thought to himself:
Aeon: Ah, right. I forgot how to get all of this back to base. Oh, right.
Aeon: He reached out to his giant cross, the Oath of Judah, which he really hadn't used much as he mainly used his sword. He focused his thoughts and held his hand straight to the cross, but nothing happened, which made him a bit frustrated.
Aeon: I really want this thing to help me hold objects.
He said to himself, Suddenly, chains came out around the cross and quickly wrapped themselves around the metals in the vicinity, hovering towards Aeon. He chuckled a bit, thanking God for how it miraculously works, but he didn't question it; now he had a way to pick up a piece of metal.
Aeon: Well, this makes it much easier.
he said as he mentally grins.
After a few hours of scavenging, Aeon had collected an impressive amount of metal and components. He smiled in satisfaction, admiring his haul. In Minecraft terms, he had gathered 2 stacks of scrap metal, 32 broken cars, 10 buses, and 5 stacks of smaller components. He had wrapped them all together using the chains connected to his giant cross, which was now hovering behind him.
As he was about to leave and head back to base, Aeon heard something that caught his attention: human voices. He was shocked because he thought there were no humans left in this ruined city.
Aeon: Unless there are survivors and they haven't moved to another city?
He pondered the thought for a moment and decided to investigate. He quietly let go of the chains holding the metal and components and prepared himself for a potential fight or to scare away any danger. He crept closer to the source of the voices, hiding himself behind a building.
To his surprise, he saw a group of children, no more than 20, being chased by a few Honkai beasts, two archangels, and one chariot. As Aeon watched, he couldn't help but think that this was nothing but child's play for him. He was Husk Nihilius, a mechanical being, and humans were very fragile and easily affected by Honkai sickness, especially children.
Aeon let out a frustrated sigh as he realized that he had no choice but to intervene. He prepared his giant cross, using the chains to connect the top and pulling it to make momentum. Aeon used the cross as a chained mace, letting himself be revealed and looking menacing. He threw the cross at the Honkai beasts, crushing them with the weight of the giant cross. The impact created a shockwave and a large crater on the ground, shaking the area.
Luckily, the children were far enough away from the impact. Confused, they looked at each other until they heard the sound of foot steps. The ground was still shaking, and the smoke from the dust made it hard to see. Suddenly, a silhouette emerged from the smoke, getting clearer with every step. A hand poked out of the smoke and waved it away, revealing a golden robot holding the chains that were connected to the cross.
The children were terrified by the robot's deadly appearance. Aeon kneeled down with one foot and looked at the children, observing their appearance while they held each other, closing their eyes in fear. Eventually, some of the children opened their eyes as Aeon kept staring at them silently. He stood up and was about to leave when one of the children shouted at him.
Kid 1: Thank you!
Aeon: ... *nods*
Aeon paused and turned his head a little bit, nodding back at the child. He continued walking away until the children were out of sight.
After grabbing all the scrap metal with the chains and hovering them behind him, Aeon made his way back to his base. As he walked, he couldn't help but think about the children he saw earlier. He knew he should do something to help them, but he didn't want to accidentally create a new timeline, so he pushed the thought aside and continued on his way.
Finally arriving at his base, Aeon was able to start his furnace. He emptied all the coal he had collected during his first mining trip, along with some piles of wood and small chips, into the furnace. He then pulled out his sword and slid it quickly along his arm, creating friction and producing sparks that ignited the wooden chips, causing them to burn. As the fire grew larger, he placed a giant cylinder on top and filled it with all the scrap metal he had collected. After four days of hard work, Aeon was pleased with the progress he had made.
Another four days passed, and Aeon had managed to craft a giant pickaxe, a metal plate, and axes that he sharpened with normal stone. He had also created a metal arrow for his crossbow strap, which he planned to use for a ballista trap. However, he knew that creating a device from scratch would be a long and painful process, as he did not have a PCB, or printed circuit board, which was essential for building a fully automated ballista. Aeon sighed in frustration at the thought of having to create the PCB himself.
Aeon: I really want to make mechs now...
After six days of hard work, Aeon was finally able to make a circuit board with the help of his RA. The process was painstaking and involved using scrap metal and other elements to create line circuits from scratch. Aeon used a mix of flax string and metal wires to wrap everything together, forming a crude yet functional PCB.
Aeon: Now I have to assemble and make a fully automated ballista.
Aeon: ...
Aeon: UUUUGGGGHH!!!!
Aeon screamed in frustration at the thought of having to complete the rest of the contraption. He threw the PCB into his hardened clay storage hut and lay down, staring off into the sky.
Aeon couldn't shake off the thought of the children in the ruined city from his mind. Despite the potential dangers, he felt an urge to check on them and see if they were okay.
Aeon: I can't leave them there without checking on them. I need to see if they're alright.
he said to himself.
The next morning, Aeon got ready for his journey. He picked up his giant cross, sword, and SMG P-19, knowing that he might need them for protection. As he started his journey, he walked for hours with his mechanical body until he finally reached the ruined city.
Upon arrival, Aeon looked around, realizing that he didn't know where the children were. He didn't want to waste his energy roaming around the city for hours. Then he had an idea,
Aeon: If the RA can find resources for me, why not living beings? he thought to himself.
To put his idea to the test, he took out his RA and activated it. The small cube device quickly transformed into a holographic red map, showing him the location of the children. Aeon was amazed that it worked, and he immediately set out to follow the map to find the children.
As he almost reached the location, it was not 20 children but a lot of them, like a hundred of them. It was very shocking for Aeon to see this many children from far away.
Aeon muttered to himself,
Aeon: What the hell? What time have I been sent into?
Even though he questions himself, he decides to focus on the children. He thinks this is too much. He decided to be sent to an actual human city rather than let these children die in this ruined city. He grabs his RA and transforms it into a holographic red map again, making it seem as if he sees the whole city.
In Aeon's holographic map, he sees a movie vehicle icon, and it seems they are humans that are searching the area. This gives Aeon an idea.
The scene changes as we see a group of heavy vehicles and tanks moving around the ruined city. As they continue to scout the area, suddenly a giant golden robot appears on their radar. They become confused as they quickly arm themselves, calling out the golden mechanical being.
Soldier 1: This is the Fire Moth! Get out of that robot and identify yourself.
The golden robot they're addressing is Aeon himself. When he hears the name Fire Moth, he realizes that he has been transported to the previous era of the Honkai Impact world. He's taken aback but quickly composes himself, aware that he needs to be careful with how he presents himself to the humans.
Aeon: (to himself) Fire Moth? This is the previous era!
The soldiers assume that Aeon is some sort of Mobile suit, but he stays silent, he was planning to just pointing in a direction and walking away since he didn't bring his weapons with him, trying to look as friendly as possible. However, he quickly realizes that he needs to change his plans.
Without warning, Aeon dashes towards one of the vehicles and tries to punch it.
Soldier 1: Holy shit, move!
The vehicle backs off from the ground punch, and the soldiers stare in shock as Aeon looks right at them, making them realize that he's not a Robot, but something else entirely.
Soldier 2: It's a Honkai beast!
A Soldier readies his gun to fire, and the tanks begin to fire in every direction.
Aeon dodges the tank bullets that rain down on him, moving swiftly and skillfully. He simply blocks the incoming bullets with his metal arm, showing the soldiers that he's not a hostile Honkai beast.
Aeon then turns his back on the soldiers and starts running towards the ruined city.
Aeon quickly ran as much as possible, his mechanical body allowing him to move swiftly and with agility. He found a corner in the ruins and hid there, observing as the group of humans drove by in their vehicle. As soon as the Fire Moth soldiers found the children, they were shocked at the number of them in the ruined city.
Aeon breathed a sigh of relief from his hiding spot, happy that he not only interacted with humans and helped the children, but also made contact with the Fire Moth. At least he now had a better understanding of the world he found himself in, although he still wasn't sure which part of the previous era he was in. Was he in the time of the first Herrscher or the sixth Herrscher?
Regardless, Aeon was glad he knew a little something about it. He then headed back to base, his mind still processing the events of the day.
As he arrived at his base, he took a moment to rest and reflect.
Aeon: I can't believe I'm in the past
he muttered to himself.
He then waits for the humans to be gone before he could continue his work. This was just the beginning of his journey through time, and he knew he had a long road ahead of him.
With that thought, the chapter came to an end, leaving Aeon to face his new reality and the challenges that lay ahead.
