บท 114: Chapter 114: Gracia

"June, come in please." Simon called after her smiling alongside Paige. He planted a soft kiss on Paige's lips before coming down from the bed. "Are you okay with her coming in?" He asked looking tenderly at her.

"I don't know," Paige replied smiling. "Maybe it's okay. But I feel a bit embarrassed." She confessed shrugging her shoulders.

"You don't have to be." He said sitting back on the bed. He held her tiny fingers and brought them close to his lips. "You shouldn't be embarrassed Baby." He said caressing the nape of her neck. "If you allow me, I'll love to show you off to the whole world." He told her. Paige looked up at him, all smiles. Quickly she planted a kiss his on his lips. Both chuckled as their lips pressed on each others. "Should I tell her to come in." Simon breathed on her face.

"Yes please." Paige said laughing.

Slowly he removed his hand from the nape of her neck, gave her a forehead kiss before standing up from the bed. "Come in June." He said again.

"Are you sure?" June asked from behind the door.

"Come in." Simon chuckled as he moved close to the door. He stretched out his hands and opened it motioning June inside.

June tip toe into the room smiling. "Hi Paige." She called to Paige who was still seated on the bed. In reply, Paige blushed with embarrassment and waved back at June smiling. Stepping inside the room, June walked up to her brother who stood beside the single arm chair he was seated on earlier. "Have a seat." Simon offered pointing at the empty seat.

June cleared her throat sharply smiling. "It's nothing serious, I can stand." She replied and received a shrug from Simon. "Can we have a private moment? I'd like to discuss something with you." She said.

"Okay, go ahead." Simon replied sitting down on the arm chair since June rejected his offer to sit there herself.

"I mean just us." She whispered.

"Oh, okay." He replied. "Baby," he called Paige who answered. "Could you act like you are not here?" He asked with a giggle.

"Of course." Paige replied and covered herself with the thick blanket she was with.

"See, so easy." Simon said with a hand gesture. "No go ahead."

"Really? Really brother. Paige is still right there." June said laughing.

"I don't see anyone else but the two of us." Simon said smiling. "Want to sit now?" He asked and got a negative reply from his sister.

"Paige." June called turning to Paige who uncovered herself and sprang up to answer.

"Yes." Paige answered staring at her wide eyed. This caused her to share an eye contact with June who bursted into a long laughter, joined by Paige and finally Simon. "What?" Paige asked amidst laughter. "You don't want me to answer you?" She asked.

"That's not the point," said June almost choking with laughter. "I'm just trying to make my brother see that you are actually here." She replied.

"Okay, fine." Simon said. "You'll just have to tell me what you came her for. Paige isn't leaving yet." He said with a soft smile making sure that his facial expression was enough to help the suster understand how serious he was.

"Okay." June replied with raised hands. Simon looked at Paige who had a questioning look on her face. He winked at her and blew her a soft kiss causing her to blush.

June watched patiently as the two love birds carried out their public display of affection. When they were eventually done, Simon turned his attention to his sister. "Yes." He inquired.

"I came with someone, a friend." She said and immediately regretted her wack start up line. She'd wanted to start by exploring the emotional part of her brother but mistakingly went straight to the point. That was the problem with the Kentleys, they hardly beat about the bush.

"Okay, you're staying till breakfast?" He asked.

"Yes, I might also stay till lunch if y'all will have me. Everybody is asking what I'm doing at my father's house making me wonder if I'll be allowed to stay till lunch." She complained bitterly.

Simon smiled as he suspected she was up to something. He already knew his sister, once she was up to no good, she'll give you a hint then procced to emotional blackmail before coming back to the issue at hand and in this case, the hint was that she came home with a friend. So, he immediately knew that the friend's presence must be worth discussing as that could be the only reason she'd be in his room. "Who is your friend? The one you came back with? Who is he or she?" He asked sparing a glance at Paige who lay down and covered herself pretending not to be eavesdropping on their conversation.

"It's a she. In fact, they are two."

"Okay." Simon replied. "Who are they?" He rephrased his previous question.

June looked at him and weighed her options. Telling him was the best thing to do. So she went ahead to explain herself. "Alfred and his groomsmen are having a party at the Charoll's today." She started. "I'd love to sit please." She finally said. Simon stood up from the arm chair and she assumed his position on it. He shifted a side stool close and sat on it.

"I'm listening." He said, urging her to continue.

"They will start the party by evening and I don't know when it will end. But I sure know that they might bump into someone and it might lead to something else." She said squeezing her fingers as she spoke.

"Who is they, June Kentley. You will need to speak to me and quite the use of parables. I'm not so patient with those things." He told her.

June nodded towards Paige. Just like she promised Anna, she did a little digging to find out more about Paige and her brother. Though she did the digging earlier than she was suppose to, she realized that Paige and Frankie might have had a thing. So she found it inappropriate to speak freely about Frankie in Paige's presence.

"Go ahead, you can speak freely. I promise you, it's okay." Simon told her with the feeling that she wanted to talk about a sensitive topic that is related to him. He wasn't ready to hide anything from Paige. So, he felt it was okay for his sister to say anything she wanted to in front of his lover.

"I came home with Gracia, and her mom." She finally said in an inaudible voice.

"Why? Why didn't you inform me? Does Anna know about this?" He asked.

"No, no, she doesn't. I know you are mad and upset about this, but you need to hear me out." She pleaded.

"I'm listening." Simon said keeping his anger in check.

"Alfred's groomsmen, Frankie and his brother, they are among. Gracia logged at The Charoll and there was no way the two wouldn't end up bumping into each other. If it doesn't happen today, then it will definitely happen tomorrow morning." She explained.

And you think you did the best thing bringing Gracia into my home?" He asked still surprise. "Those two are bound to meet one way or the other. Even if they don't meet during your wedding, they will still meet somewhere else." He stated still with hushed tone. "You don't have to bring a total stranger to our home out of sympathy June. The Tedsons are your fiance's friend and there is nothing you can do about it. It is just the way it is. You don't have to feel guilty for something you have no control over." He explained. "If you are here to tell me that you brought a stranger to our home, I'll take it that the stranger is likely to overstay their welcome?" He asked.

"I promise you brother, they will leave immediately the wedding is over." She reassured him. "Just give them a couple of days and they will be out of your faces." June pleaded.

"How many days after the wedding are we talking about?" He asked with a straight face.

"A day or two." June replied with a pleading face.

Simon paused for a moment to think of what June said. After a while, be heaved a sigh. "Please, don't try this again." He said. "We don't know Gracia well enough to allow her into the Mansion. The friendship she shared with Anna was only because she came to Anna for legal advice back then and Anna was there for her and walked her through her tough moments. She's not such a close friend to the family please." He stressed.

"I won't." June replied. "I promise you." She reassured him happily. "Can I go now?" She asked with excitement.

"Of course." Be replied.

"Thank you so much for understanding." She said smiling happily "I'll be on my way now. I have lots of things to do today." She told him. "Are the two of you coming down for breakfast though?" She asked.

"We've eaten already." He replied. "I'll definitely see you before you leave the house." He reassured her.

June nodded smiling. "I'll just quickly leave you two love birds to continue from where you left off. Have fun and make babies while at it please. I want a baby. A little niece and nephew." She added laughing while Simon walked to the door and opened it up for her.

"This way ma'am." He said as he directed her towards the door. "Thank you for stopping by. Bye." He chuckled. Once June was out of sight, Paige opened the blanket and turned to Simon with a straight face.

"Who is Gracia?" She asked sitting up.
