บท 27: Chapter 27: More of Tedson

She looked herself over once again with the help of the wall mirror before heading downstairs. Sherman was at the foot of the stairs and he bowed slightly once she approached him.

"Good evening Miss Paige." He greeted. "Your ride is ready and waiting for you." He informed her pointing outside.

"Thank you." Paige said and went outside to see Nicon well dressed and waiting for her beside an extremely gorgeous Jaguar SUV. Nicon helped her into the car and they started their journey to Crescent fall.

"Which address are we going to at Crescent fall ma'am?" Nicon asked.

"Daisy and Don." Paige replied.

Nicon nodded and quickly updated the address on the map as they continued their journey. Paige fell in love with the beauty and tidiness of the roads. They went through the same route she took while coming to Creek island. But at the edge of the road, Nicon took a left turn to an entirely different route Paige have never been to before.

few minutes into the ride, she couldn't help but gush at the beauty and luxurious apartments they were passing. If she thought Creek island was beautiful then Crescent fall was any other word bigger than beautiful. This has got to be the most beautiful place she has ever been to all her life.

Crescent fall was a very respectable community with resident from highly reputable homes. They drove to the centre of the town and with the help of the map, they located 'Daisy and Don' without much hassle. Nicon stopped the car and helped her alight. "I'll be right back." She told him and left for the entrance to Daisy and Don.

She walked into the restaurant and was accosted by a waiter who requested for her reservation details. She told him and was immediately directed to her table which had Frankie already sitted waiting for her.

Frankie saw her as she walked up to their table. He stood up smiling, waiting for her. He wore a black trouser on a black shirt. Frankie was indeed a handsome gentleman. One can't deny that fact about him. On seeing him, Paige was glad she wasn't overdressed. She walked up to him and he helped her to a seat.

"You look breathtaking." Frankie complimented her.

"You too, you look lovely. I am so glad you choose the simple suburban look. I was bothered I might end up being underdressed." She shared her thoughts.

"Same thing I was worried about just that I'll be the one underdressed." He replied smiling. "What do you say, Let's order food?" He asked.

"Sure." Rosie replied.

Paige opened the menu to make a choice and almost screamed at the ridiculous cost of most of their meals. She looked at Frankie worried.

"Is there a problem?" He asked seeing her worried face.

"No..., Yes.., the meal prices, they are too expensive. I don't know what to go for. I mean..."

"That's true." Frankie said as he opened his copy of the menu. But that's always the issue with these Fancy restaurants. I think you should go for this." he said turning the menu to her and pointed at one of the most expensive meal in the menu.

"Paige's mouth went agape with surprise.

"Princessa, order what ever you want. Allow me to bother about the payment. You shouldn't bother yourself with such things." He said indirectly reassuring her that money wasn't an issue. He called the attention of the waiter who walked up to them immediately to take their order.

Few minutes later, the waiter returned with their meal. He served their wine too before leaving them to enjoy their meal.

"So," Paige started. "You are Franklin Tedson?" She asked. She heard Sherman call him Mr. Tedson of the Tedson brothers earlier today. Initially it didn't make sense until later while she was getting dressed. "You lied about that. Or rather you didn't tell me." She said.

Frankie smiled. "But I told you that I worked at Tedson and Co." He replied.

"But never who you are or your full name even." She continued.

"I'm sorry about that." He apologized honestly. "I didn't think it was necessary. I was wrong, and I'm very sorry."

"No, I'm not really mad. Just that I felt you should have said something." She told him.

"Okay. Paige, I must say that it's really nice having you here. I thought you ghosted me last night at June's party. I waited for a while but you didn't show up. I had to search around for you. Before I finally ran into Anna Kentley who told me that you left.

"I'm so sorry about yesterday. I mistakenly ripped my dress hence my reason for leaving the party impromptu." She explained.

"I would have helped you know." He said

"With what exactly?" Paige asked laughing seriously hard. Frankie joined the laughter.

"I just remembered an event that took place a long time ago while we were still in college. I once lent Anna kentley my shorts at school cause she ripped her dress while playing with her friends. Guess what? I left home in my underwear. I remember our driver's face when he came to pick me up after school. It was epic. Most of the kids at school laughed at me for weeks." He said.

"What!" Paige exclaimed. "No way!"

"It actually happened. That was the most humiliating experience I've ever had in my life." He confessed.

"My god! I doubt I can do what you did. It's not easy at all. Anna must have been so grateful to you after that." She said.

"Yeah, we became closer after the incident. My mother is her godmother actually but we hardly speak to each other then. But the incident changed everything and we became friends. He said. "Do you love your food?" He asked her.

"Yes I do." She replied.

"I'll love to see you more often Paige." He told her in a serious tone.

"It's feasible. I'm only free on weekends from Friday evenings to Sunday evenings.

"Okay, how long do you have to stay at Creek island?" He asked.

"About a month and few weeks. I'm not so sure yet." She replied.

"So little time. I wish our paths crossed the very first day you came to Creek Island." He said smiling. "We'll talk on phone then. We can fix the best time to see." He suggested.

"That would be better." Paige agreed.

The rest of their lunch was spent catching up and getting to know each other more. They laughed and cracked absurd jokes. When it was time to go, Frankie saw her off to her ride and she left for Creek Island after bidding goodbye to him.

The drive back home was shorter. This was because Nicon took a shorter route. Paige couldn't recognize the route but she kept her eyes glued to the road so as to know how or where they'll pass through arrive home. In between the ride, Nicon took a turn to his right. Few minutes later, Paige recognized the route as the one that connects to the Kentleys Mansion. True to her discovery, barely two minutes later, they arrived home.

Nicon helped her out of the car. "Thank you." She told him while he gave a bow. She walked slowly to the entrance of the house while reminiscing on how her day went. It was indeed a lovely afternoon with Frankie and she enjoyed every bit of it. She was greeted and welcomed at the door by Sherman in his usual high spirited greetings.

She nodded to his greeting and walked into the sitting room to see Emily and a visitor. She greeted them politely and made to continue to her room before Emily called her back.

"Paige, please come meet my dear friend. Say hello to Sarah my very good friend. Sarah Tedson." She introduced. Paige raised a brow at the mention of Tedson. She wondered if Sarah was related to Frankie. She walked over to them and stretched out a hand for a handshake.

"Oh, my gorgeous Nurse." Sarah said and instead wrapped her up in a warm hug. Her big dangly arms pressed together to wrap Paige up completely. "My darling, I've heard so much about you from Emily my dear friend and from my son too of course." She winked.

"You don't say." Emily cut in. "Your sons really got the eye. Paige is such a special girl." She told her friend.

"You don't have to say that twice." Sarah continued. You know Frankie hardly talk about a girl. Apart from my beautiful goddaughter Anna, Paige is the only girl he has ever talked about. He spoke about her all through breakfast this morning. I was indeed hoping to see you today." She said referring to Paige who in turn faked a heartwarming smile.

"It's really my pleasure ma'am." Paige said finally breaking out of her embrace.

"You're just too beautiful darling. I hope to see you at Crescent fall more one of these days. Cause the sight of you alone is enough to warm the heart." She told Paige.

Now, seeing Sarah Tedson, Paige thought about Frankie. It was obvious Frankie did not take after his mother. She wondered if he took after the father then. Sarah was good with compliments and words. Frankie was good with both too but never as good as the mother.
