บท 20: Chapter 20: June's Engagement Party
Simon looked around and was satisfied with everyone. He wrapped his hand in Emily's and they led the way. Outside, Paige looked around for Charlotte and couldn't find her anywhere.
"I didn't get your name Miss." Nelson said to Paige as he approached her side.
"Paige, my name is Paige." She replied looking at him.
"Do you need a ride?" Nelson further asked with a charming smile. Simon shot Anna a look as he overheard Nelson's question. Seeing the way her brother looked at her, she immediately stepped up to them
"Back off Nelson. Anna said positioning herself between the two. "Paige is riding with me. We have lots of Girl's talk to catch up on." Nelson raised his hands as a sign of surrender and entered his car. His Chauffeur closed the door behind him and took a seat at the driver's seat.
Simon rode with Emily and Anna with Paige. Together with their guards, they formed a Convoy of 5 cars. Then they made their way to the Hamptons Hall. Paige was worried about Charlotte. So she decided to ask Anna.
"Ann, what happened to Charlotte?"
Anna tried to remember anyone that bears Charlotte but was not successful. "Who's Charlotte?" she asked.
"Oh sorry. Charlotte is my car. Do you know what happened to her?" She asked.
"I really do not know. You should ask Simon. I've been meaning to ask you. Didn't you go through the contact?"
"I did, why?" Paige asked remembering the first time she was asked the same question.
"Well, I constructed the contract myself and I made sure to add Simon's rules which included you not carrying more than a box as clothes and any personal item you can't do without will be made available for you during your first two weeks of resumption. And I remember sending some money to your account for your flight ticket and we stated that you should not come with a car as an official car and Chauffeur will be provided for you. But alas, you defiled all. Tell me you didn't go through the contract please." Anna looked at her with a concerned face.
"I didn't." Paige said making a bunny face.
"Ahhhh, I thought as much." Anna laughed. Paige joined the laughter. "If you have a copy, endeavor to read it to avoid loosing your job. Simon is not a very patient man." Anna told her and she gave a nod.
"We're here ma'am." The Chauffeur announced.
"Already! That was fast." Anna said and looked out from window. "Come see." She gestured to Paige who joined her at the window.
The walkway was buzzing with lots of people from various class. The media were positioned at various angles with hands busy with their cameras. The cameras clicked on any guest seen on the walkway.
"Are you nervous." Anna asked Paige.
"A bit." She replied.
"You don't have to be. Just smile at the cameras. Walk at your pace, do not rush your steps. And of course, flaunt those gorgeous legs. Aside my sister, you've got the most beautiful legs I've seen in a while. And please stick around. I have lots of people I want to introduce to you. You could get amazing job offers here you know." She smiled at Paige who returned the smile. Just then, a knock came at the car door. One of the guards wanted to to let them know that they've arrived.
"Are you ready Paige?"
"Yes." Paige replied.
"We're ready." Anna told the chauffeur who came down immediately and opened the passenger door for us. The cameras followed them once they got down. Nelson went in first, followed by Paige and Anna, then Simon and Emily.
