บท 66: Let's Fix It
The moment Vina arrived, she immediately went to her bathroom took a shower and wore a white mini top and a blue jean and she tied her hair into a ponytail then proceeded to the kitchen.
She got there and searched for something to cook but she found just two noodles pack remaining so she began with the cooking.
Meanwhile Albert checked the time on his wristwatch again at an eatry eagerly expecting a girlfriend of his.
"This is just typical Vera she never show up to anything on time gosh not even to her god damn break up" Albert complained as he signalled the waiter for another glass of wine.
Albert has been dating Nancy for over four months after his marriage but immediately after Vina left the house he had a rethink about the whole thing and decided to quit and instead be a nice husband to her but if he doesn't stop it now by ending things with Vera, things would get too complicated to handle.
When he raised his head to the entrance, he noticed everyone in the room seem to have diverted all their attention to the person that just walked in so Albert ran his hand over his head and was awe strucken.
"Damn she looks gorgeous" Albert complimented inwardly as Vera flipped her hair trying to locate him and when their eyes met she smiled and head towards him with her body hugging red strapless dress was definitely an eye catcher.
Albert robbed his throat feeling really itchy because the last time he tried to break up over a fancy dinner with her, they ended up in bed.
Vera was a very classy lady with an adorable fashion sense and every time it just keeps getting better, when he shook his head again she was already standing in front of him so he stood up and ushered her to seat before heading back to his seat.
"Sorry I kept you waiting baby" Vera said as she pecked him on the chic
"Oh no I haven't been here that long by the way you look" Albert said to Vera in a flirting tone and she blushed.
"So what would you like to have" Albert asked then she picked the menu and scroll through tracing her long nail down the menu.
Albert immediately knew what she was going to order and they echoed together.
"Fried rice, chicken and salad with plain dressing and no cream please" Vera blushed and smacked the menu to his hand and Albert made his own order too.
"Knowing someone this much can be disgusting sometimes" Albert complained inwardly because he has spent so much time with Vera.
They fell into an awkward silence that made Albert's blood boil and the fact that Vera doesn't talk much annoys him so he drummed with his fingers on the table.
"Bert, you are being noisy" Vera whispered to him
"Oh sorry, I guess am just really hungry"
"Do you want snacks for starters"
"No that won't be necessary.
Actually Vera" Albert called as he cleared his throat
"Are You okay" Vera asked him looking worried
"Yes I am" Albert replied as he rubbed his throat
"You seem a bit uncomfortable"
"No I'm ok, are you fine "
"Yeah"
"I really don't have much time to waste hence I have an interview later in my office so let me go straight to the point.
I called you out her because I need to tell you something Vera" Albert said seriously and Vera blushed as he looked down at his fine Latino shoes
"I think you are a successful beautiful woman with a wonderful personality and the way you go about things just show how special you are and I appreciate all the time we've spent together" Albert said but just then the waiter came in with their orders.
"Bert your food" Vera said to him
"Am not hungry" Albert replied
"Huh... But you said" Vera was about saying but Albert interrupted her rudely
"Forget about what I said and focus on what I'm saying. Our relationship is not working Vera and I have tried loving you but I can't besides I have a wife so the earlier I release you, the better for you hence, you deserve someone better" Albert said emotionlessly.
"Ju. Jus.. Just stop,, what are u saying" Vera interrupted but Albert ignored her and continued talking.
"I'm trying to tell you that I don't love you, I can't give you the time and attention that you need because I will want to channel the attention to my wife".
"Bert, I'm not complaining. You might not love me now but eventually you will and we've only been together for just two months so give it time. I love you and that all that matters I don't care been a second wife"
"Listen to me young lady, I can't do this with you anymore but there are guys out there who would do anything just to be with you and you know that I'm not ready for any kind of commitment plus I have a family to take care of" Albert said rudely to her
"I don't want them Bert it's you I want just you" Vera pleaded with Albert.
"It seem you no longer understand English that this thing is not working and I can't breathe well so let's just call it quit" Albert said rudely as he adjusted his seat to stand up.
"Don't even dare " Vera said hitting a fist to the table
"You don't get to walk out on me Albert, you just don't.
After all that we've been through together, after everything we shared it's just this moment that you suddenly remembered that you have a wife and family to pay attention to?
Your wife must be so patient to put up with a beast and chronic cheat just like you and I bet you that you'll never find anyone who will love you the way that she does.
Ass hole" Vera's voice broke out as she tossed everything on the table then walked away leaving her seat stumping to the floor then Albert sighed in relive.
"It wasn't like I had expected but I'm glad she didn't slap me publicly. Hey junior let's go get another sweet and fresh bambi" Albert said happily stroking his rod before walking out of the eatery.
Meanwhile in Albert's office some applicants were patiently waiting to be interviewed and amongst the applicants was a lady named Silver who was called upon to go into Albert office.
Silver stared at the well furnished office again, from the well arranged office equipment to the wedding frame on the desk and she has been waiting for almost an hour.
"Where's the director that asked to see me" Silver asked Inwardly as thought of going to the market and then straight home hopefully to hear good news after the interview just as she was about leaving hence the director wasn't available.
someone gave her a note to wait behind and the receptionist ushered her to the office she felt really excited
"Probably this was just one of their test and there might just be a camera somewhere monitoring my every move" Silver thought and just then, the door finally opened with a tall handsome man from the interview showed up and Silver immediately stood up adjusting her skirts.
"No pls have your seat my darling" Albert said.
"Thank you sir'' Vera said as she sat down
"So sorry for the delay" Albert apologized.
"It's nothing sir"
"So what can I offer you"
"Don't bother sir, am fine"
"Are you sure or are you just feeling shy"
"No, am really okay sir"
"If you say so, but let me know if you change your mind. I want you to be rest assured that I have single handedly picked you out of the crowd, just so you know you are my favorite" Albert said and Silver smiled flashing her dimples.
"Really sir" She asked not wanting to believe her ears
"Yes really, what a lovely smile you've got there oh with dimples such a beautiful girl" Albert complimented and she waited patiently for him to get to the point.
"Thank you sir".
"So what's with the sir, sir? am not old at all so you can just call me Albert or Bert anyone that suits you" Albert said to Silver and she rolled her eyes.
"Well you know that as you are my favorite, other companies have their own too and to ensure you get the job, I need to pull some string and to do that I need motivation" Albert said but Silver looked at him in shock.
"Motivation,, what kind of motivation?" Silver asked him so he stood from his desk and moved closer to her and placed his hand on her shoulder
"The type that you can do to get this job and much more" Albert replied rubbing his hands on her shoulder.
"I don't understand " Silver said as she jerked off his hand from her shoulder
"How can you not understand, a big girl like you" Albert said as he rubbed his hand on her arm but she shakes him off.
"Are you seriously asking me to sleep with you" Silver asked then stood up and took a good look at the man in front of her
"why do you men always think that when you have something to offer people, they must go out of their way to get it" Silver asked him in a rude tone.
"Don't be stupid young lady because you don't know how lucky you are. Amongst 30 other applicants I picked you so you should be hugging me right now" Albert said to Silver proudly.
"You are not even ashamed of yourself, a married man like you or you think I have not seen what she looks like" Silver asked as
she points to his framed wedding pictures on the table
"But it doesn't matter" Albert said trying to convince Silver
"It does" Silver said nodding her head pitifully
"Oh pls young lady, do you want the job or not" Albert asked sternly
"You can keep your job to yourself Shameless fool " Silver hissed and walked out.

Back to Albert's house, Vina offered her friend Ivory a glass of juice as they sat on the two seater couch.
"Ivory, Albert has shown me hell in the last few months that I have been married to him. I have seen the worst of him'' Vina complained to Ivory when she stopped at her house in the evening to see how Vina was faring.
"Cmon it's not that bad" Ivory replied sipping her drink
"Yeah it's that bad after all the rossy relationship experience and now the abusive marriage, I just don't know what else to expect"
"It's okay to feel that way I mean the pressure is too much" Ivory said to Vina.
When Albert returned from work he was exhausted after the day's activity like breaking up with Vera then he went out clubbing to celebrate but now he is so tired that he might just crash anywhere.
When he walked into the house, he was surprised to see Vina but then he decided to tiptoe untill her voice killed his track.
"Albert" Vina called stuttering
"Hey Madam, good eveningI didn't see you" Albert said as he strolled into the living room towards her
"You didn't see me or you are trying to avoid me"
"Avoid you for what, I just didn't see you Vina and why will I be avoiding you "
"Are you a child trying to sneak your way upstairs" Vina asked Albert calmly.
"I wasn't sneaking around, I am just tired and I need enough rest so I was heading straight to my room and not sneaking" Albert replied to Vina
"Albert please come sit, I need to talk to you right now" Vina said pleadingly.
"Vee please we'll talk later because I'm very tired"
"Albert do you think you are still a baby, why are you making things difficult for yourself. You have everything you want but you choose to throw it away"
"I don't understand what are you talking about'' Albert asked her getting upset already
"You know exactly what I'm talking about.
What wrong have I done to you that you choose to treat me in an Ill mannered way" Vina asked but Albert rolled his eyes at her
"Nothing is wrong with me Vina Its just wasn't working "
"What's not working? For God's sake while we were dating, you said that I was the perfect woman for you because I was very patient, understanding and tolerant but now that we're married, can't you see all those qualities?" Vina asked shading tears already
"Vina please I don't want to talk about any of these right now" Albert said to Vina.
"No we are having this conversation right now. You can't just treat me the way you please like I'm some bag of trash so tell me this instant what you think is wrong with me Albert Peak Benson"
"There's nothing wrong with you Vina we are just not meant to be" Albert dropped the bombshell and Vina looked at him in astonishment.
"What do you even mean by what you just said
"Look I know we loved each other previously and we thought that we were compatible that's why I popped the question but I guess we aren't"
"Oh Albert, do you even know what you want for yourself. You have dated dark, fair, skinny, fat, short, tall all kinds of women but you still don't know what you want" Vina said angrily to him.
"Vina can you stop all of these right now because you're upsetting me already"
"I can't stop Albert for goodness sakes I'm your wife so I have to be concerned because you are going to lose a good girl like me as a result your stupidity" Vina uttered angrily.
"Can you even hear yourself speak? The main reason why I've not landed a slap on your face right is what I don't know what the hell do you mean by.........," Albert asked mimicking her
"Hey Vina listen to me attentively I'm not ready for any kind of commitment right now"
"When will you be ready Albert, is it when your mates are having three to four kids then you will decide to get committed? Open up your heart Albert and let's make this marriage work or am I not a wonderful wife"
"For anyone but not me because I don't feel anything special for you any longer Vina and keeping you here will be a total waste of time"
So you are going to waste yours instead right?" Vina asked yelling at him.
"You're repeating the same thing constantly and it's driving me nuts. Everything is spelt out clearly in the sense that if you want this marriage to work like you said then move on with your life and focus on yourself by ignoring my existence it's not a big deal"
"But Albert how would you feel if you are been treated the same way you're treating me" Vina asked.
"That's your business Vee. I've had a long day at work already, am stressed and i have been feeling sick for a couple of days now, maybe i will go see my doctor tomorrow, so good night. Albert said to Vina then he walked out of the living room and immediately Vina bursted into fresh tears.
