The next morning, Liang Chen went to the training hall for practice. He wanted to immediately practice the martial arts cultivation method given to him by the Universal Guide. This is called the Unlimited Extreme Fists cultivation technique. This was derived from the Ancient Eight Extreme Fists kung fu. It has most of the moves from the modern Eight Extreme Fists however some moves are replaced by killing blows and each strike was infused with qi. The Ancient Eight Extreme Fists was a martial art that was designed and intended to kill the target in the shortest time. It is more like an assassin technique rather than its modern sport counterpart. Liang Chen was excited since he was well aware of this kung fu that was mostly seen in animes, movies, and video games. He saw that some of the disciples are practicing here as well. Some of them are taking pointers from seniors and others are doing taolu, both with or without weapons. When he entered the hall, some noticed him and started whispering. Several disciples have disdained looks and others with pity. Liang Chen wanted to laugh but held it within. He knows about the rumors about him and how he treated Yu Yan and the other girls. He found a corner where he was a bit far from the others.
"Alright, how should I start?" Liang Chen asked the Universal Guide.
"Start by building your foundation. You will do the horse training stance for a couple of days." The Universal Guide said.
Lian Chen made a questioning face. "What the hell is the horse stance?"
"Don't worry, I will guide you thoroughly." The Universal Guide assured. "1st relax your muscles and body. Put your feet in line with your shoulder. Bend your knees to where the thigh area, knee to the ankle area, and the length of the space extending from the back hip area to the ground behind the heels and form an equilateral triangle. Simultaneously raise and extend your arms up till outward to the point where the elbows are pointed towards the ground then a light hollowed fist is held in front. Align your center of gravity and make sure to straighten your back at all times."
Liang Chen did as told and noticed that he looks like someone who was riding a horse. Thanks to his cultivation level, he doesn't feel tired easily. However, doing this stance for hours and days will still be tough.
"Once you are relaxed and familiar with this stance, run the cultivation cycle of the Unlimited Extreme Fists." The Universal Guide lastly said.
Liang Chen started the cultivation cycle in this position. He could feel qi surrounding his muscles, tendons, and his heart. Every fiber was pulsing. He was amazed. This cultivation method speeds up the actual training of martial art. The training should take months and even years depending on a person's talent back on earth. But thanks to the cultivation method and qi, these strengthen his body and accelerate the training period by many folds. After just 30 minutes, he noticed that his clothes are soaked in sweat. He swiftly removed his robes and top, leaving only in his pants then returned back to the horse stance. Everybody saw him taking off his clothes. Some female disciples were looking at him weirdly but soon their jaws dropped when they saw his body and muscles which were refined thanks to the Iron Body technique. Master Wu walked by and saw him from the outside. At 1st he was confused about his ridiculous posture. But when he noticed that Liang Chen was cultivating, his jaw dropped as well. With his cultivation at the Core Formation realm, his eyes could see Liang Chen's body was covered in qi and all of his muscles are pulsating. He have never seen such martial training method before where someone just held such a position and every part of the body is being strengthened. Master Wu was a martial fanatic. He noted to himself that he will ask Liang Chen about it after his training then he went away.
It has been 2 days and Liang Chen has been diligent. He only takes a break either to eat, bathe, or rest for an hour every 4 hours. There were only 2 months left before the tournament and he was eager to master at least a level of each of his new techniques and breakthrough to the Qi Refining realm middle stage. He was so immersed in training and felt relatively safe here that he only noticed with a spiritual sense that Xiu Ying was just a few meters away from him. Liang Chen opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Are you here to practice as well?" Liang Chen asked.
Xiu Ying just stared at him surprised. Master Wu already informed her of Liang Chen's situation. With everything that happened, she didn't expect him to ask her this question and in a calm manner too. Xiu Ying went closer so that their conversation would be more private.
She made a deep sigh and asked. "Aren't you afraid that the Liu family will send another assassin?" Xiu Ying has been with Liang Chen almost every day before they got into the sect. She has always admired how calm and mature he is in every situation and never panicked or scared.
Liang Chen smiled and said. "Even if they are a noble family, I will not be scared by them. I am inside the sect peak and with Master Wu's protection on my side, they would think twice before sending someone again. Though I would wish to go outside and do some shopping and stuff."
Xiy Ying shook her head. "Wait till the tournament is over. It seems that Master Wu has been arranging things for you."
"What things?" Liang Chen was not surprised but he didn't know anything since Master Wu hasn't said it.
Xiu Ying said with a serious tone. "Not only that you need to beat Liu Yang, but you must also impress everyone. As long as they see that you have potential, you may be promoted as an inner sect disciple." Her tone became soft and sad by the end of her sentence. "Well, that was what Master Wu had told me."
Liang Chen understood what she meant. It seems that Master Wu has been doing something behind the scenes. It seems that he really needs to show off in the coming tournament and get recognition. He thought about it. Once he's an inner sect disciple, the Liu family will have a harder time dealing with him. The status of an outer sect and inner sect disciple is huge. Being an outer sect disciple is like you have the potential to be with the sect but as an inner sect disciple is like being a true disciple of the sect. Even more, if you are a core disciple, the sect will pour resources into nurturing you, and will have the chance of inheriting the sect as a sect master or becoming one of the leaders. Liang Chen knew why Xiu Ying became sad.
"Why don't you join the tournament as well?" Suddenly asked.
"I... don't think I have what it takes to be an inner sect disciple." Xiu Ying hesitantly answered.
Liang Chen doesn't think so. Xiu Ying has the potential of being an inner sect or core disciple. The reason Xiu Ying was hesitant was that she has less experience than others. He decided to bring Xiu Ying outside once this irksome situation sorts out. Liang Chen asked the Universal Guide what sword technique would be good for Xiu Ying.
"The best suitable one would be the Cloud Piercing Sword Technique. This technique is a swift and straightforward sword technique that focuses on speed and accuracy rather than brute force. It involves quick and precise movements, attacking vital points of the opponent's body, and then retreating quickly to avoid any counterattacks. The Cloud Piercing Sword Technique would be suitable for Xiu Ying, who is at the Qi Refining realm level 1, as it doesn't require a lot of qi energy to execute but instead relies on speed and accuracy. The stronger level attained in the technique is, the sharper it gets. The technique would allow Xiu Ying to defend herself and attack opponents without using much energy, which is beneficial for a lower-level cultivator. This technique is also deadly at higher levels. With a good sword, it can kill almost any opponent on the same level who was unaware."
"I think you have the strength to do so. Let me give you something." Liang Chen stopped his training and pulled out a thin aqua-colored sword from his storage ring and gave it to Xiu Ying. "This is called Primal Spring Sword. This is for you"
Liang Chen made this sword last night from the claws and fangs of the cobalt monkeys and apes together with the 2 Qi Refining beast cores and some Geng metal ore. The hilt was designed like an arrow or a wing that helps deflect a strike. The handle was covered using the skin and yellow hair of the cobalt ape's chest. Handling the sword can feel like you are stepping into a high-class carpet barefooted back on earth. Liang Chen made sure that the quality of this blade is no less than any other high-grade Mortal artifact.
