Mc Ivan's POV
“These are the things at the crime scene, Neil's cap and some groceries.” Maine handed me Neil's things.
“How is she?” John asked, referring to Kissa.
I followed their gaze towards Kissa.
She's wiping Neil's coffin.
“She's been crying every day.” I answered.
My heart aches seeing her.
“Based on the initial investigation, it turns out to be Serious Guy.” Mica said.
I clenched my fist.
“After we put Neil to rest, I'm going to do everything I can, to find him.” I said.
“I just—
Maine didn't continue what she was about to say when someone interrupted us.
“Neil! Neil! My beautiful son!” Someone we don't know suddenly came in.
I'm pretty sure he's Kissa's ex-husband.
He went straight to Neil's coffin and hugged it.
He was crying.
“Why! Why did you let this happen to my child!” He shouted to Kissa.
Kissa didn't answer and just cried her tears out.
But not me.
I handed the things in my hand to Maine and walked straight to him and punched his face.
“How could you say that? You abandoned them and flirted with every girl you want, and now you're saying that bullshit to Kissa? How could you.” I know I'm turning red in so much anger.
“Ivan, stop.” Kissa whispered.
“Who the hell are you! Wait, are you Kissa's boyfriend? Maybe you're the reason Kissa can't focus on taking good care of my son because—
He didn't continue what he was about to say when Kissa slapped his face.
“How can you say that to me? How can you say that to me when all I did was take good care of Neil? How about you? What did you do to protect him? You didn't even bother coming to his birthday, and now you're accusing me of things? What do you think of me? I'm not a mirror.” Kissa's tears keep on flowing.
“If you can't respect me, just please respect your son's funeral.” She added.
“Dude, drop it off, we're catching people's attention here, let's give some respect to Neil.” John whispered to me.
“Pid, we better go.” Sgt. Nichol is also with us.
He drags his friend outside.
I felt Kissa almost collapsed, and so I guided her to sit and give her a cup of water to calm her down.
I'm caressing her back when she suddenly held my hand.
“Ivan.” She whispered.
I look at her as she talks to me.
“P-Please find him.”
“Find the killer.” Her eyes are full of hope.
And mine, definitely is full of determination.
I hold her hand even tighter.
“I will.”
“I will find him.” I answered with full sincerity.
