After the Faceless Lord left, seemingly satisfied with Axiolypito's bullshit explanations, the wretch began wandering the, dark corridors of the deep sewers, the darkness cut in places by distant and faint rays of light coming from above.
The way the walls were constructed brought great displeasure to the Wretch Lord, sturdy and immovable, no way to move these out of the way and burrow behind them, he felt like a wet bird, wanting to fly but unable to.
Only difference was that his predicament wasn't going to solve itself.
After walking for an hour, the monster had yet to encounter something interesting, this place had nothing to offer but the stench of feces for now, even rats were a rare occurence, despite the fact that they should enjoy this filthy environment, at least the wretch thought they should.
But there was little 'think' with the wretch, it was synonymous with the complete and utter truth, for the Wretched Lord made no mistake.
Looking left and right, still nothing, he continued on, as infuriating and unnatural as it was, the wretch couldn't go against the Obsidian Queen's orders and he wasn't planning on just going up there and do his best.
'The Faceless guy told me about goblins but I didn't see crap for now' he thought, making a spark with his claws, a habit he had recently developped.
Everything down there was so monotonous that he began playing a little game to make time go faster, walking on only one brick at a time, since the ground was also built with those.
Doing so with tremendous ease with his incredible agility, stepping around silently and even twirling with an utter lack of apparent grace, any movement he did, even if objectively graceful, looked horrendous to the eye.
This terrible parade went on until the wretch spotted some shape from the corner of his eye, not even fully turning around to deign them of his sight, letting them announce themselves.
"Get! Git!" spilling some saliva as it spoke, the pale goblin swung his arm in the direction of the wretch, seemingly commanding the huge goblin with chains on its body.
Those goblins did have green skin but on of a much lighter shade than what is typically seen in their above ground cousins, although not nearly as much as some cave dwelling goblins, those did have some access to light and most certainly sometime went up into the city, it would be a shame to miss out on so much trash after all.
Their bodies were barely covered up, all hunched over with their skin mottled, covered in pimples and pocks, parts of the skin peeling off and to the contrary, some fleshy bits protruding where they shouldn't.
All had gigantic noses that definitely impaired their visions, horribly stained teeth and covering their chests and faces, were bits of feces, indicating that they were gorging on it as if it was a delicacy like they rarely saw.
The big one was thrice as large as the rest, which wasn't saying much as they were smaller than Axio with big round bellies, with what they fed on, they weren't running out of food anytime.
It had a hunched back and generally more beastly demeanor, not even attempting to speak a single word and only growling and barking, the numerous imperfections on its skin appearing like scales.
Listening to orders of its smaller brethen, it lunged forward, running through the filthy waters to get to the wretch, who remained standing still, only growing two needles claws, not worried about the big goblins laughable four-legged sprint.
Running like a gorilla, the beast prepared to grab the smaller monster into a crushing bear hug, roaring loudly enough to hurt its own throat.
The wretch fully turned to face it only at last moment, waiting for the lower monster to blind itself on his claws before expertly moving out of the way but the goblin beast eyes went wide opened as if it had witnessed something impossible, stopping its mad rush by forcing its fist on the ground, scraping his skin deeply but stopping barely a milimeter away from its own blindness.
The wretch raised a brow, noticing the mad dog turning into a puppy that had been caught pissing on the carpet, he looked behind himself, not seeing anything that could have prompted a stop so quickly accepted that he must simply be that intimidating.
"Well, aren't you a well behaved simpleton?" he slapped the larger monster in the face.
"Whouai?!" the smaller goblin that had ordered it came running with the rest trying to keep up, however, those already having side-stitches and completely out of breath.
It seemed beyond pissed, until it turned to look the wretch in the eyes, freezing completely before stepping back in horror before dropping to its knees.
"Ouer-" the goblin coughed and focused intensely.
"Please forgive us, we were ignorant to your identity, my lord" the little bastard spoke perfectly, seemingly forgettin to breath after speaking and falling on his side after a while.
It yelled at the rest lagging behind.
"Chiney! Shine!" he shouted, making them also freeze up but since they were moving, they all fell on their faces.
"You guys aren't loved very much by the big guys upstairs but thankfully, you know your place, you have my attention for the next few minutes, make sure to renew it" all smug, Axio spread his arms as if he was a prophet casting a miracle upon them.
"Come on, scrub yourself and explain how things go down here, then I'll explain you your new mission" he waved his hand in a lazy fashion, reminding the small goblin of the gesture the cleanest smelling people above ground would sometime do when dismissing the less clean smelling.
The goblin relayed the message to the rest, who began doing exactly as told with whatever they could find.
"You seem like a distinguished fellow by sewer standards, speak clearly when I adress you, understood?" making sparks right in front of the goblin, making his overgrown nose hair slightly sizzle.
He opened his mouth and spoke as perfectly like before, making some smoke come out as well, imitating another gesture he had observed outside, bringing his flat hand to the top of his head.
