บท 54: CHAPTER 54

　　My mom leaves us alone, her mood a little worse, but I hope a night out will cheer her up and make her forget about everything for a while. Forget about Dane’s blatant ignoring of the house rules and bailing off school. She should be used to it by now.

　　Bryan and her haven’t fought in a couple of days, so I am hoping maybe she can get relief from her latest stress. A night away from it might improve her mental state. Some one-on-one couple time which they haven’t had in ages.

　　“Where do you think they were all day?” Elisa asks shyly when she’s sure my mom's footsteps have disappeared into another part of the house, and I shrug in answer. I told Elisa everything this morning when I picked her up for school and then sat like an anxious weirdo in our first class for him to walk in, but he never did. He has no idea how uptight I was all day and how often I checked my cell phone to get nothing but silence.
