บท 10: Sorry
"Huh…Huh.." Nathen took deep breaths as he looked up at the angry goblin general. He looked at his status interface while doing that.
'So, it takes one hundred experience points to rank up.' Nathen had killed more than thirteen goblins and which made him break through to Rank-2.
He looked at Rose, who was also exhausted like him and pondered. 'She also killed many goblins, and I am also feeling she got a little bit stronger.'
'That means she also can gain experience.'
After those thoughts, he ran into the goblin general. He jumped up and stab it with his wooden.
Crack.
'Shit' The wooden spear did some damage, but it broke upon further contact.
"Grahh!" The goblin general attacked with its club.
However, Rose's attack came trying to distract it. But this time the goblin general ignored the pain and continued its attack.
Nathen crossed his arms to brace for the attack.
Bam!
Nathen's eyes widened the moment he felt the force behind the attack. He crashed into the ground and came slamming down on a tree.
Nathen laid down there like a corpse and wailed in pain.
The goblin general didn't go to Nathen to finish him off. It strode toward Rose, who was exhausted and vulnerable.
Rose saw that Nathen was lying on the ground and that the goblin general was coming toward her. She knew she could do nothing, as she was a mage. She gritted her teeth and roared."Do you think I am scared of you!?"
She pointed her staff at it and looked directly into its eyes. She wanted to damage its eyes so it could at least blind after she was dead and Nathen could escape.
'I have to use all my strength. A slow and weak arrow won't be able to penetrate its eyes.'
She gathered all her mana into the staff and conjured two dense fire arrows.
"Flame Arrow!"
They zoomed through the air extremely fast and caught the goblin general by surprise.
It screamed loudly in pain. However, as it was already close to Rose, it swung its club at her.
Rose was completely weak after using that spell. She supported herself with her staff.
She saw the world slow down, and the club was coming toward her. 'I guess I couldn't complete my dream."

She fell to the ground and looked up to see a bloodied Nathen. He said to her."Idiot, didn't I tell you to be safe? Why are you out here trying to die?"
"I…" Rose said with a daze.
"We will talk late, but first…" Nathen stood up and faced the raging goblin general that was attacking randomly. "Let's kill this guy."
Rose didn't say anything, just watched Nathen's tall, straight back.
'I need something that can penetrate its body easily and something that is long like a spear.' As he thought of these from his heart, being in the zone of battle.
His heart started to pound at that moment.
No! It wasn't his heart!
It was the Heart Seed!
Nathen closed his eyes as he imagined what kind of weapon he wanted. After the full visualization came, his eyes shot open.
He put his right hand on his heart and swiped right. From his heart, a black fluid came out that took shape in his hand.
A long black spear took shape in his hand. Its front end was pointy and extremely sharp. Its other end was a little flat, but it could still be used.
It didn't look like a spear, however.
It should be called a needle!
He ran forward with intense focus. The random attack came at him. He jumped at the right moment it would hit him. He then used his hand to go much higher.
He trusted his needle at its chin and made it go through the other end of its head.
Seeing this thing still trying to move, he forced his needle into it and made its head rip open.
[ You have killed a goblin general. You have gained 20 exp ]
Nathen kneeled on the ground and looked up at the blue sky."That was a pain in the ass."
Rose came before him and quickly grabbed him to keep him from falling down. "Are you okay?"
"Are you okay?" Nathen asked back instead, as she seemed to be doing well now.
"Yes, I got the experience from that goblin general. I used that to restore my mana and stamina." Rose said as she let him use her as support."You should also do that."
Nathen also did that after doing so, his health and stamina quickly came back a little. He quickly said."Let's leave first, or more might come."
"Yes." Rose agreed with him and fled that place in a hurry.
While running, Nathen asked. 'System, can you tell me what is happening?'
[ You are clearing a normal dungeon. ]
'You call this normal!? This is supposed to be for newbies. Tell me which newbie can do it?' Nathen asked rightoiusly.
The system went silent for a moment before it answered.
[ Host, because the system is in hardcore mode, it had to mutant the dungeon for the host to make it hard. ]
'I knew it. I was very skeptical about this from the start. System, tell me, did you do anything more?'
[ Host, the other thing is that, you can get 35% extra experience than all other people. ]

Nathen looked up at her.
"I am sorry for what I said and did to you earlier." Rose said with her head down.
