Althea made the poor scorpion stop in its tracks. There was no problem with them getting attacked by other monsters because as soon as they approached a certain distance from the Cleaner, the chasing monsters completely stopped. It was as if they were afraid of getting close to it.
"We should be able to rest here," Ein sighed, sitting down at his previous spot on their little picnic.
The giant scorpion they were on was completely obedient, not even shaking as it just stood still as if it were a statue. As they were resting, the group stared at the still-expanding black mass ahead of them.
"So, what's the plan?" Melina asked, unable to handle the awkward silence of the group any longer.
"I..." Ein started speaking but quickly lowered his head, dismayed. "I Don't have any ideas."
If it were a simple monster, then Ein would definitely fight it head-on, even if it was a difficult battle. As long as there's a winning chance, there's no need to give up.
