บท 34: CHapter Thirty-Four: Party

Jasmine seated herself and rested upon the comfortable, brown, wooden chair, leaning against its soft fabric cushion, built into the backrest. Unlike the chair though, Jasmine wasn't comfortable. Around Jasmine a throng of villagers stirred.

Jasmine sat at the end of a table, around her, family members, villagers, acquaintances and newcomers hurried to find a seat. Several similar tables were set up in the village, all for this very day.

Having been refused by her deity, Jasmine was forced to celebrate her birthday, despite her apparent discomfort. But she refused to spend that time alone in solitude, with some stuck up nobles close to her village. So instead she organized an extravagant event and allowed anyone to join.

Just now, weeks after the announcement did she realize the fault of her plans, Jasmine is after all awkward with people, some could even call her outright antisocial. This trait of her's became enhanced a hundred fold when met with a crowd of people. Not to mention she was the focus of said crowd. In her head Jasmine vowed to get her vengeance on Jantyr. She'd find out his birthday and start a tradition of celebration, where everyone had to hurl praises like flowers at their lord.

Jasmine gained a wicked grin, but it quickly distorted into a smile, as she shily observed her surroundings, afraid anyone would have noticed her weird antics. To her relief there wasn't a visible reaction to her actions, so she could sigh in relief and breathe out,

Unbeknownst to her, the deity in question had been laughing at her but that quickly changed when he saw her expression of pure vile evil. Jantyr felt a shiver run through his nonexistent Spine seeing her like that, foreboding her evil plans.

"Extraordinary party, lady Jasmine." the branch leader of the adventure guild said. Attempting to flatter her, but Jasmine simply flinched seeing him, remembering the events that transpired months ago. Noticing her displeasure the man returned to his seat, five cairs, away from her.

Similar instances occurred, where villagers and important individuals of the village walked up to her. They praised her beauty, older, original members of the village who knew her since birth congratulated her. One such was the former woodcutter, well not really former.

Some months ago Jantyr thought it was a good idea to establish a hierarchy for villagers too, so that they may strive for improvement. He called those who excelled in something master, to gain this title one had to be the best in the village, and to achieve the title lord they'd have to be the best under Jantyr. In other words everyone who was the best in the village for the moment was called Lord. An example of this is "Rolf, Lord Of The Lumbermen" the title of one of the original twenty and the fifth strongest villager.

Lenart, Howard, Jasmine, Frankie and Rolf, in that order. These are the five strongest in the village, excluding Ricadrious, who's the strongest, but not part of the village, or worshiper of Jantyr.

"Rolf, good to see you again!" Jasmine said, having missed the hulking giant, 2.5 meters tall, with a thick build, with bulky muscles. Like an identical copy of his race, the Falken, Rolf also had brown hair and a brown beard, shocking.

"Thank you Jasmine, I still remember changing your diapers when you were young. But look at you now, a proud Falken Woman, no older than 26, yet you've ascended to a noble, I'm so proud!" Rofl said, wiping away a tear that formed in his eye during his speech.

Jasmine rolled her eyes and said "Yeah, yeah big guy. Enjoy yourself today; how's the lumber squad doing nowadays?" she asked suddenly.

"Bhaha, well" he said rubbing the back of his head "We're doing great! Next winter Jantyr won't protect us from snow, so we're gathering heaps of fire wood and also thousands of logs to build new houses.

" "Frankie Lord Of The Carpenters" has recently been expanding outside the walls and we're struggling to keep up. For some reason being a lumberjack doesn't interest many, despite how fun it is to swing an ax against something; you know. Destroy something, by using devastating force!" Rolf answered honestly.

"I see such pity, I hope they learn to appreciate the fine work you all do!" Jasmine said.

The rest of the day went by quickly, everyone enjoyed an abundance of meat, bought from the merchants coming and going from the close cities. Though the closest city was a hundred kilometers away. A trialing journey that takes many days. Some carriages are enhanced with magic though, these travel way faster. Jasmine arrived on one of those.

The next day, the thirty-fourth of Garinties Jasmine woke up with a headache. There was liquor yesterday, a lot of it. Jasmine must have consumed over five liters of ale, two liters of wine and one liter of mead.

The first thing Jasmine did that day was go to the toilet and relieve some pent up urges. (An: Not naughty ones!)

~Pov Jantyr (First person)

The outskirts of the village, in other words outside the wall, was full of life. Over eighty construction workers ran back and forth, each one specilices in their own thing and working on that very task. Some carried the newly made planks and started hammering away, using the nails made by the blacksmiths. It was a cheap product, as the demand was so high they had to pour metal into special made containers where it would solidify and be sharpened. Instead of being hammered and tampered for days. Like swords and such were.

I peeked at the lake of acid with interest, I could feel its connection to me, yet I couldn't make it disappear. Through the months since its appearance it hasn't shrunk or expanded at all. Remaining the same size. Well the acid level has fallen, as the acid melts through the ground, but it was still the same amount. I wonder how it will look in the future.

My attention was once more caught by Jasmine, who escaped her mansion and made it into the library. She used the candles and walked to the library, to a very intriguing section.

"Forbidden arts" was its name. Consisting of twenty books, one being the diary of a literal dark mage.

Jasmine summoned a book into her hand from her tattoo and grabbed the diary in the bookshelf. She sat down in the armchair and relaxed, reading the book about mass massacre and discrimination against dwarves. It had multiple formulas on how to use dwarven blood in rituals, the most forbidden magic of them all. In the library of the tower there was only one mention of rituals, other than this book and it was in a book made by "August Rivery The Third". The name of the book was "The Shadow Of Light", a book about ancient spells and magic, forbidden by all. It didn't go into detail about any of the spells, only foretold of the horrors.

Out of all these evil things Rituals were marked red, it involved massacring creatures and using body parts, blood and organs for rituals, anything from creatures who died were good to go. Even Falken and other species were used as sacrifices in rituals. Necromancy, a magic renowned throughout the world for its evil, consists of rituals, for it is the only way to summon the dead; using rituals.

Jasmine was by no means planning something like that, but recently she encountered the word ritual in the book from that creature in the ruin. So she got interested and asked me, being the nice god I am, I of course provided her with all she needed. Admittedly not that much, but it's all we have.

Watching her study so hard filled me with pride, to think I made such a bookworm.

(An: Hi! Author here, sorry for late release; math test today; took a lot of my energy, so I didn't write a chapter the instant I came home :) If you liked the chapter consider donating power stones to this poor author, have a great day, or night, author out :) )
