After getting my license ,I learned that I can take tasks that are 1-Star above my rank and below. Going to the 2-Star Task Board ,I notice quite a bit of notices.

Looking at the first couple of requests ,I decide to take the most straightforward task. Kill the Tier 2 Demon Beast. The Triple-Horned Minotaur. The reward is 5 gold coins. That'll let me rent an inn for about half a year just with that. I won't even need that long either ,so I'll have a bit extra leftover. I only need to rent an inn for half that time.

After travelling to the location that the receptionist gave me after I took the request. I see a forest. I start walking around a bit. But where is the demon beast ,system?

So It's basically nothing compared to me. Well ,I don't want to break my wooden sword. So I just throw a punch at the minotaur and I manage to punch a hole through it's chest.

Hm? Nice ,I can gain exp from killing demons and monsters. That's awesome! After taking evidence of the kill from the dead body ,I return with a horn and the demon core of the minotaur. The system can automatically store the drops of all demons and monsters I kill ,so I don't need to carry them. After walking into the guild and turning in the horn and the task paper ,I receive the 5 gold coins.
"There you go ,also could I please have your guild card for a moment?" The Receptionist asked politely.
"Sure ,here you are." I respond in kind. handing my guild card to her. Slightly wondering what she needs it for.

After half a minute she comes back with my license and informs me. "Congratulations. You've just been promoted to a 2-Star Mercenary!"
"What? Was that all I needed to do?" I replied ,obviously surprised at the sudden rank up.
"Of Course. The first rank is just to determine if you can be a real mercenary or if you're not able to be a mercenary at all. If you fail your first quest by any means ,you're license would be revoked."
I sweat in my heart ,you're joking. I would have my license revoked if I fail?! "Thank God ,I would have to sleep on dirt if I had my license revoked."
