ANGELA
I don't know what was happening with Gabriela, since what happened with Alex, she wasn't herself, first it was bad she didn't separate from him, and now she had a glow I never seen in her, and after what happened two minutes ago, I didn't know what to expect. "Does anyone know what's happening to Gabriela? She has been acting weird for a while."
"And then I was the one who imagined things, right Mario?" María said looking at her twin. "I see Gabriela the same as always, you're the one who sees things where there are none." Mario defended himself "Your sister is right; something is happening to Gabriela. It's not normal she ran away like that in the direction of knowing and left without trying a bite. It's her favourite food"
"Regarding that, she told me she would explain it to us later." I informed the rest of the family, "I know I shouldn't be the one to say it, and I'm not going to do it. Just telling you Gabriela is fine, that's normal." My granddaughter informed, causing us all to turn in her direction. "What are you talking about, Roberta?" I asked curiously, like the rest of us. "She'll tell you that, I'm just telling you it's normal for her at this moment."
"I don't understand, could you explain better?" I asked, "You'll understand it later if they're going to do what I'm thinking, I'm just telling you so you don't worry and think she's sick or something, she's better than I ever thought she would be." She pointed out and we all, or at least almost all of us, frowned. "At least since she's been with that guy, she looks a little more like the Gabriela I knew when I was little. Always happy."
"She was always happy." Sergio quickly jumped in. "And I don't deny it, uncle, but it's not the happiness she has now, I wouldn't know how to explain what you see, you can see it yourself, there's a reason why you would decide to forgive the guy." Roberta said with a smile on her face "Alex has changed radically since he has been with her. He has become a special boy, and I'm not saying that because I'm his mother." Monica said with a smile on her face. "I must admit there must have been something to him if Gabriela noticed him."
"Seks moet al goed zijn als je het zo graag wilt. (The sex must already be good for her to want him so much)" Kevin muttered, which makes everyone start laughing, at least the ones who understand Dutch "Kevin!!!!" exclaimed my daughter "Oh godmother, come on. Gabriela is niemand minder dan zij, ze wil iets zien. (Gabriela is not a girl, you knew that was going to happen at some point)"
I don't know what Kevin would say to make Lara say that, but her cousins and uncles were laughing, which made me wonder what Kevin had said. Sometimes I wish I had learned Dutch, but when we went there, we were lucky enough to meet a Spanish community, which almost prevented us from learning the language. Of course, I knew something, especially my children who were born and raised there, but I don't understand most of the things they say, I don't know if because the language has changed since we lived there, or because they speak it so fast, I can't keep up. It gives me time to find out what they say.
"You know the worst?" Kevin said once he finished laughing at his godmother's reaction. "What?" Lara asked. "When we were downstairs to wake up the sloths here, and she fell to escape from Nerea…" Kev began. "I'd see if she woke you up with cold water." Nerea defended herself, rolling her eyes. "Yes, she woke you up with cold water, but the point is that Roberta became neurotic, that in her state she shouldn't have made any efforts, and I don't know what else hurt her. She said something about risk, but I couldn't understand what risk it is, Gabriela didn't allow it and she didn't say what's happening to Gabriela either."
At that moment thirteen heads turn to look at Roberta and ask her to give us an explanation of what Kevin just said. "Hey, hey, hey, don't look at me with that face, as I told you, it's not my place to tell you anything about what's happening with Gabriela." Roberta said raising her hands in the air "She won't tell us anything, you know how she is when it comes to worrying. She's not going to tell us anything. Is there something wrong?" Gabriela's mother asked in a worried tone. "It's not nothing bad, but do you really think that if something bad happens to Gabriela, Alex would be as happy as he is?"
"I can assure you my child wouldn't be as happy as he is, it can be said everything Gabriela feels he feels practically the same." Carolina said and at that moment both my daughter-in-law and my daughters turn to see me. I think we had figured out what's happening to my granddaughter.
Flashback
"Gabriela hasn't slept in the house since Alex left the hospital." commented my daughter sitting in one of the chairs "And what did you expect Lara? What will always stay with you? At some point she was going to have to go. What's more, I don't understand how she hasn't gone to live with that man yet, after all, they're going to get married." Her sister told her with a smile on her face. "You say that because Kevin hasn't left home yet, but Gabriela is too young."
"Gabriela is not too young. We all know she grew up before her time, she's the mother of a six-year-old girl who adores her, a boyfriend who loves her more than anything in the world. It's time for her to live her life, you must understand that, Lara." Her sister-in-law pointed out and Lara nodded. "Now do you understand what we felt the moment you three got married?" I asked with a smile on her face. "Yes mom, I understand, but we didn't have all the problems she had."
"I remind you something similar happened to you at school until you got tired." I pointed out, "Well, that's not the point. Gabriela had more problems than I had when I was little. Plus, there's the problem of anxiety. Do you think getting married won't affect her?"
"Lara, your daughter knows how to take care of herself. She has her anxiety problems under control now, she has practically had nothing happen to her for two months, and considering with Alex by her side she relaxes almost instantly, you should not worry about her anxiety anymore. She knows how to take care of herself, and Alex is there to take care of her, he's a great man and he won't let anything happen to Gabriela." I said, totally convinced Alex will do whatever it takes to make sure my granddaughter is okay. "I know. I don't know when she grew so much."
"Let me tell you sister-in-law, she grew up a long time ago as you say. Gabriela knows what she's doing, you shouldn't worry about that. Besides, your mother is right, that guy showed us all he loves your daughter and will make her happy." Sonia supported with a smile on her face. "I hope so." my daughter murmured, "Do you know if she at least gets more rest? The last time I went to wake her up, she woke up in such a bad mood you could say she was a little scary."
"Well, I don't know, but considering every time she comes home, she falls asleep... I don't think she's resting well. Plus, she's tired all the time. Didn't you notice she started eating cereal now?" Carol said, "Yes, the moment she arrived I noticed, I was quite surprised to be honest." Lara admitted "Maybe she wanted them, for once in her life she decided to try something." At that moment it's like a light bulb goes on over my head and some things start to fall into place.
"Do you really think…?" I started to say "What are you talking about, Angela?" Sonia asked with a frown. "Think about it. Gabriela lately sleeps too much to be her, she stays up late and goes to bed early, she falls asleep everywhere, she's tired all the time, now she starts eating cereal."
"Where are you going with this, mom?" Lara asked. "Is there a possibility Gabriela is pregnant?" I pointed out and Lara began to deny, "Gabriela pregnant? I doubt it, I don't see her with children now to be honest." said this "Let's see, Gabriela already has a daughter, she's her legal guardian, loves children and so does Alex. Okay, maybe they didn't have it planned for now, but carelessness happens, and they love each other more than anything in the world, that can happen."
"But if she were pregnant, she would tell us, that doesn't make sense." Maria said with a frown. "That's true, she would tell us." Mario said, completely convinced, "True, but then we have to find out what's wrong with her, because something must be happening to her so she doesn't rest as she should." I said, knowing they were right that Gabriela wouldn't hide something like that. "Dat ze de hele nacht de liefde bedrijft met haar vriend , daarom rust ze not, G steeds grandson wat ze zou moeten doen . (She is making love with her boyfriend all night, which is why she doesn't rest as much as she should)"
"Nerea!!!!" exclaimed my daughter-in-law "Het is een mogelijkheid mam. (It's a possibility, mom)" she responded, shrugging her shoulders. "It may be a possibility, but your cousin isn't like that." (That's because you're her mother, aunt, and you don't want to believe it, but Gabriela has changed since she was with that guy. Also, from my point of view it's good she enjoys life, it's a good way to enjoy it of course, especially all considering the man is handsome as hell.)"
"Nerea, I don't think I raised you that way." Sonia said in an annoyed tone. "You raised me to be sincere, and that's my sincerity." My granddaughter defended herself with a big smile on her face. "But not to be as shameless as you are being now." my daughter-in-law rebutted "Het spijt me, mar het is de waarheid en ik weet grandson hie ik het anders moet Zeggen. (I'm sorry, but it's the truth, I don't even know how to say it any other way)" They all laughed and left the way he had entered a couple of minutes ago.
"Well, I don't know what's wrong with Gabriela, but we have to find out what exactly is wrong with her. Do you think it could be something bad?" Lara asked and I denied, "I don't know, but if what's happening to her is something bad, I doubt Alex knows it and I doubt he knows how to hide it as well as he would if that were the case. "It must be something else that's happening to her." I pointed out, "Well, I'm going to find out what's wrong with her, I can't stay with this doubt any longer."
End Flashback
At this exact moment, it made more sense than when we were making the meal, considering if something bad happened to her, Roberta wouldn't have hidden it, but there are still things that don't add up too well, as Kevin said about risk. I just hope that if she's pregnant, it's not risky, because then we would have a little problem with that. We would have to wait for Gabriela to tell us what's happening to her, and I would be attentive to find out if she's lying to us or if what she's going to tell us is true.
