Chapter 232: Doflamingo gets upset
"You knew about that. And you have been sitting on that bed without even making one attempt to escape…just staying there." Doflamingo glared down at her with a calculating gaze.
"Well, is a very comfortable bed. " Vivi said with an innocent grin.
"You won't be smiling when that marine Admiral comes to pick you up and take you to their Headquarters. I don't know what plans they have for you but I doubt you will enjoy it." A cruel smile appeared on Doflamingo's face.
Vivi became serious.
"Look, I will give you one chance, Doflamingo. Something that you don't deserve…but there we go. Take everyone you care about and leave this island before my crew gets here. Go to some random corner of the world where I never have to see you again and live the rest of your days there. This is the only chance you will get."
Doflamingo stood in silence for a moment, trying to process what she just said.
"You are giving me an ultimatum?...you don't seem to understand your situation. I am the one in control here!."
"It is you the one who doesn't understand. You think you have the right to rule this island but you don't."
She looked at him.
"You think you had a rough life because you didn't get to continue living with those pieces of human garbage who call themselves Dragons."
"You don't kn-"
"I know." She interrupted him.
"I know that you think you are some magnificent ruler, a King among Kings, a God among mortals... but deep down, you are nothing save a spoiled brat with too much power, throwing a temper tantrum because someone took your toys away and you want them back."
The room shook under Doflamingo's power. His teeth were clenched so hard that could shatter at any moment.
Ropes came out of him and trashed the room, cutting the walls, bookshelves, chairs, and everything else in sight except for Vivi.
He wanted to kill her. He had not wanted to kill someone so badly since that day when those 'mortals' had humiliated him and his family by hanging them from their home walls while spitting curses at them.
But he couldn't do it. He couldn't kill this woman in front of him and the smirk that was drawn on her face reminded him that she knew this.
He needed to calm down…
'I need to make this deal with the Marines, if I don't, everything that I have worked for could come crumbling down.' he reminded himself.
Without saying one more word, Doflamingo rushed out of the room, breaking everything and anyone who had the misfortune of getting in his way. It is going to take him a while to calm down.
Vivi looked around the room. The bed was the only thing that survived his hissy fit, everything else was completely destroyed.
"What a short temper." She muttered.

An hour later, the door opened again and Viola entered quickly.
"Vivi!" She called.
"No tray of food this time? Well, that's fine. You don't have a place to set it down anyways.
Viola went paler when she saw the state of the room.
"Doflamingo did this? I was told not to bring you breakfast today and then I found that he came to visit you. I became worried so came here as soon as I heard it…are you okay?, Did he hurt you?"
"No, as you can see. I remain untouched. I guess he could not bring himself to break a valuable asset." Vivi calmly told the other woman.
"He is usually very composed…what could have made him so angry?...oh!, never mind that. There is something I need to tell you." Viola looked back with a worried expression. She then carefully approached the door and looked through the keyhole, as if to make sure that no one was listening on the other side.
"What is it?, did you find out something interesting?" asked Vivi with curiosity.
Viola got closer to Vivi and whispered.
"Last night during dinner, Diamante got drunk, as usual…and said a few things that I don't think I was meant to learn. Doflamingo is not planning on returning you to your friends!. He made a deal with some marines, they are going to take you away and bring you to their Headquarters."
"Oh?" Vivi did her best to look surprised.
"You need to escape!. If the Marines get their hands on you…"
Viola went silent and seemed to be pondering about something.
"I can't help you escape the castle. Trevol and Sugar have been posted nearby to make sure that you have no chance to escape the castle. But I can contact your friends when they get here. If I tell them where you are, I'm sure they think of something."
"You have only known me for a few days, why would you risk exposing yourself as a traitor to help me?" asked Vivi.
"Because… .is the right thing to do. I don't want you to lose your freedom. I know what that's like…"
"You are a nice person, Viola…say, you know what karma is?"
The woman tilted her head to one side.
"Never heard of it, what is it?"
"Is effect and cause. Is the belief that if you do good things, then good things will happen to you."
"And bad things will happen to bad people…that sounds like a fairy tale, Vivi. I would like to believe that, but if it was true, then those people…" Viola could not bring herself to say their names out loud.
"Give it a bit more time. sooner or later, karma always strikes." She assured the other woman.
