Clare POV

“It’s not possible for me to mate with you,” I murmured again. “I just can’t do it.”

Those were the last words I said to him. He didn’t even have a chance to respond, nor did I have a chance to say anything else when my body was seized by an unseen force and the scene right before my eyes and all around me changed.

Were these memories that came over me?

They felt like memories. But no… they couldn’t be memories. None of this had happened before.

But it was so vivid, it was like it had happened. Or it was happening right now. Maybe I was caught in a dream or was it a vision?

I saw myself, and I saw my pack. I saw that we were trapped. We were in a forest, and everything around us looked dark and dismal. And almost all of them were wailing. They were suffering. My pack was suffering.
