บท 24: Chapter 24: Voyeur

Emily’s perspective:

“Stop!” I scream, sitting straight up in bed.

Grant throws the covers off of himself and leaps out of bed, quickly turning about and taking in the room before realizing my shout was merely the result of a nightmare.

“It’s okay. I’m okay,” my voice cracks as I reach out a shaking hand toward my lover.

“F*ck,” he expels a frustrated curse under his breath before slipping back under the sheets and putting an arm around me. Grant pulls my quivering body tight to him. I can feel his rage, but it quickly subsides. And as his heart rate slows, so does mine. His heavy breaths calm, leading my rapid breathing to relent. The only remaining sign of the overpowering vision is the light tremble in my torso.

“Everything okay?” Grant asks.

I wash my tongue around in my mouth and swallow, then try to assure him. “It’s nothing,”

He grips my shoulders. “You’re shivering.”

“Just a nightmare. That’s all.”

“A vision?”

“A nightmare,” I shrug, a little defensively.
