Julia Locke POV:
My car was waiting right outside Marcus’s room. He raised an eyebrow at the sight of it, but he didn’t comment. “So, where are we going?” he asked me instead.
“You’ll see in a second,” I replied. “But there’s something we need to do first. Apologies in advance, Marcus.”
The two of us were still hand-in-hand, and I pulled Marcus to me, delivering a quick bite to his neck.
“AH!” Marcus gasped as my fangs pierced him. He tried to recoil, and I let him go, his hands going to him neck. As he lowered his hands, he turned to glare at me. “What the hell did you just do?”
“I just opened your eye a little bit,” I replied. “Literally. Now you’ll be able to see what the lucky people of this town get to see.”
Marcus opened his mouth as though he wanted to say something, but an uncertain look crossed his face. He swayed precariously on his feet, and I had to reach out and take his arm to keep him from falling over.
