บท 48: Chapter 48: The Talk

Desmond looked bewildered between Ryan and Mykel. Neither of them had moved from where they were. Ryan sat patiently waiting for the chance he requested to speak to Mykel alone and Mykel just stood at the edge of the table. The only one who didn’t seem okay with this was Desmond, who had yet to slide out of the booth. He couldn’t imagine what Ryan might have planned to say to Mykel. Ryan had seen the worst of Desmond for the last six months and Mykel had been the reason Desmond had disappeared for a couple of weeks before that.

“Don’t worry, Des,” Ryan said, almost like he could read Desmond’s thoughts. “It won’t be anything bad.”

“I can handle this,” Mykel reassured him as well.
