3.33% THE POISON DEITY / Chapter 2: 2- Zhong clan

บท 2: 2- Zhong clan

Zhong Peng let out a piercing cry of agony upon awakening, his head throbbing with a searing pain. Suddenly, the door flew open and a young lady darted into the room with such swiftness that it seemed as though she had been waiting just outside the door all along.

"Young master Zhong, you have finally regained consciousness," the young lady spoke with deep reverence, her head bowed down in a show of deference.

Despite her respectful manner, Zhong Peng paid her no attention as he surveyed his surroundings, quickly realizing that he was no longer in his own chamber.

He then recalled the events of the previous day and could not help but shudder with fear.

It was then that he realized that his consciousness had been drawn into the book, "The Heavenly Art of the Poison Deity."

At this moment Zhong Peng remembered his grandmother, and he couldn't help but inquire of the young lady before him, "Where am I? And where is my grandmother?" His voice was laced with concern, for he feared for his grandmother's safety.

"Young master, I believe you should rest for a while," the young lady replied to Zhong Peng with great deference, suppressing any surprise that she might have felt.

Zhong Peng was about to press her for information on his grandmother's whereabouts and condition, when suddenly, there was a deafening explosion in his head, and he once again lost consciousness.

The Zhong Clan First Elder's Courtyard.

A man could be observed seated upon a throne-like chair, lost in deep contemplation he was the first elder of the Zhong clan Zhong Yuan.

However, his reverie was suddenly interrupted by the voice of a guard stationed at the front door. "First Elder, Song Lijuan has arrived. Shall I admit her?" the guard inquired.

"Admit her," the man replied in a deep voice. With a creaking sound, the door swung open and a young lady entered the room.

It was the same Lady who had been present when Zhong Peng regained consciousness.

"Little Song, what brings you here? I had instructed you to never leave the young master's side. Why have you come?" The First Elder, Zhong Yuan, glared at the young lady standing before him, his face contorted with anger.

"The young master is a.w..ake," the young lady stammered, her voice trembling with fear.

Zhong Yuan bellowed in a fit of rage, "What exactly did you just say?" He was fuming with anger, "I distinctly remember telling you to make sure that this would never happen," he added with frustration and irritation.

Song Lijuan exclaimed in confusion and disbelief, "I do not understand how this happened. I followed the prescription and fed him the poison exactly as you instructed me to. I swear, I did everything just as you asked of me!"

Zhong Yuan spat out in anger and contempt, "You are nothing but an incompetent fool! You couldn't even do the simplest task that I asked of you!" His voice was filled with rage and frustration.

"Scram!" he bellowed, his eyes blazing with fury as he turned towards Song Lijuan, who scurried away in fear of his wrath.

**************************

As Zhong Peng regained consciousness, he was suddenly inundated with a flurry of memories that did not belong to him.

He soon realized that these memories were not his own, and that he had somehow been transported to a new world. To his surprise, he found that he had been reborn into the body of the young master of the Zhong clan.

As he sifted through the memories that flooded his mind, Zhong Peng discovered that he had been attacked by an Azure Tiger, which had resulted in his cultivation being severely crippled. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks, and he knew that he had a long and difficult journey ahead of him if he was to regain his strength and power.

As Zhong Peng was still ruminating over his misfortune, another explosion rocked his mind.

But this time, he remained conscious and aware of his surroundings. Suddenly, a book materialized in his mind, the very same book that had brought him to this strange new world.

As he pondered how to operate the book, it suddenly opened, and a room appeared before him. The room was ancient and mysterious, and at the end of it stood a throne. Seated on the throne was an old man dressed in an equally ancient costume, his face inscrutable and wise.

As Zhong Peng stood there in confusion, the old man on the throne suddenly spoke in a loud and commanding voice. "Mortal, pay respects to your God!" he boomed, his voice echoing through the ancient room.
