Porter Thornton was very nervous.

He just invited Ryan and Aiden Caldwell to his humble abode. That Ryan Caldwell!

When the man looked at the choice of furniture in his house, the peeling wallpaper, and the cracked window sill, he sighed deeply.

Why, oh, why, did his house scream poverty?

Mrs. Thornton pursed her lips at her husband. Seriously, he was making a mountain out of a molehill!

So what if the furniture were rather old? They were clean and cozy!

So what if the wallpapers were slightly peeling? Talk to the grubby little hands that liked to scratch at the edges!

Was anyone going to die when they saw the little cracks at the window sill?

Good Lord, the man was more dramatic than a queen!

"Porter!"

The man in question walked in circles while mumbling something inaudible.

"PORTER!"

Porter stopped walking and gaped at his wife.

"Can you please? You are scaring the children. You are scaring ME."

Next to her, the children were swaying back and forth playfully.
