บท 10: Lynn: This World... Disappoints Me
"Lynn, why can't you accept me as your boyfriend!?"
An aggressive young man with a gangster demeanor yelled at Lynn with anger evident in his tone. His appearance could be considered the most handsome in the school if it weren't for Keith's existence.
His name was Raymond Shelton, the gang leader of Fredrick College. He was notorious for his unruly and aggressive nature and it was well-known in the school that he would often threaten the school belle to become his girlfriend.
But it was also well-known that even after several threats, Raymond didn't succeed in making the school belle his girlfriend. Because of that, Raymond was at his wit's end since if Lynn Walter didn't agree to be his girlfriend, his reputation as the school's gang leader would be ruined.
That was also one of the reasons why Lynn Walter wasn't swarmed by a lot of pursuers. Those who were inferior to Raymond dare not court Lynn Walter since they were afraid of offending him.
The only one left who actively pursue Lynn was none other than Raymond. He was using his reputation as the gang leader to keep other boys away from Lynn.
Of course, that caused the displeasure of the majority of the boys but none of them voiced out their displeasure lest they no longer wanted to live a peaceful school life.
As for Lynn, she was used to seeing Raymond desperately threatening her to be his girlfriend. Because of that, she was ignoring Raymond while continuing to eat her lunch.
After all, would anyone care about a dog barking next to them?
Noticing that Lynn wasn't listening to him, Raymond slammed his hand near Lynn's food tray which received the reaction he wanted. Lynn's attention was now on him.
"What do you want? I don't have time to watch your circus play. Go bark at other people's houses."
Lynn spoke with venom in her words. She despised Raymond's man-child personality.
If it wasn't for Raymond's self-centered and aggressive personality, Lynn would have already agreed to become his girlfriend to give him a chance. After all, Raymond's appearance was currently ranking second in Fredrick College.
Hearing Lynn's words only triggered him as he could no longer control his anger.
'Wasn't I the gang leader of Fredrick College? Countless girls wanted to become my girlfriend but I rejected all of them just so I could pursue you.'
'Countless girls wanted to be in my bed but you didn't appreciate my offer. You should be begging to be in my bed yet you are playing hard to get? How dare you!'
With anger and impatience clouding his mind, Raymond raised his hand to slap Lynn's face. He no longer cared about the consequences of his actions as this 'bitch' dared not to give him face!
Raymond was already being 'nice' to Lynn by 'asking' her to be his girlfriend. But he had already become impatient as she didn't even accept to be his girlfriend after countless times that he 'asked' her to be his girlfriend.
Seeing Raymond raising his hand in an attempt to slap her, Lynn's eyes widened as she didn't expect Raymond to go that far. In her eyes, the barking dog became a mad dog that would bite anyone that stepped on its tail.
In the peripheral of her vision, she saw that no one offered to help her for fear of offending the mad dog. Even those boys that had attempted to become her girlfriend only averted their eyes as they didn't want to offend Raymond just for a girl.
Play a hero my ass! No one wanted to offend the gang leader just for a girl.
Besides, there was plenty of fish in the sea. Even if other girls weren't as beautiful as Lynn, those girls were a better choice since they didn't have to worry about having Raymond on their backs.
Lynn had already guessed the thoughts of those boys. As she expected, no one truly cared about her.
The boys were only lusting after her body, especially Raymond. On the other hand, those girls talked behind her back as they cursed her and spread malicious rumors about her due to jealousy.
Even her so-called best 'friend' often spoke ill about her and her best 'friend' was also one of the main culprits for the malicious rumors about her.
'No one cared about me. Even if I left this world, no one will mourn for my death.'
'This world… disappoints me. It's better to end my suffering.'
Lynn closed her eyes as if she had already given up on resisting, waiting for the incoming pain on her face.
She had already decided to end her suffering after returning to her 'home'.
Contrary to her expectations, she didn't feel any pain in her cheek. But instead, she heard the pained scream of none other than Raymond.
"Arghh!"
Opening her eyes, Lynn saw Raymond as he covered both of his eyes in pain.
There were two pieces of french fries on the ground near Raymond. Putting two and two together, Lynn had guessed that someone must have thrown those french fries toward Raymond's eyes.
Wiping his mouth gently with a napkin, Keith stood up from his seat and glared at Raymond with disdain.
"How dare you hit my girlfriend?!"
