บท 554: The cruelty of the world

"Someone! Someone come and help! She has been poisoned!" Yin Zhu scampered as she screamed while holding the bars of the prison. She couldn't understand how anyone could poison someone in the prison that was governed by the council. 

"S—-save your breath, girl," the old woman said with a blank stare and an eerie smile. "The fact that I have been poisoned inside the prison, it can only mean one thing and that is this was planned …cough ahead of the time." 

Her eyelids fluttered as she said, "I cannot believe that I was foolish enough to believe that I will be fre—-free cough one day." 

"Old Madam stop talking," Yin Zhu rushed towards her, she reached to hold her hands. As she was an omega, she tried to heal the old woman by taking her misery inside her body but as soon as Yin Zhu raised her shield, she felt her heart thump wildly. 

A sense of unease rose in her heart as she coughed out blood.
