Although Veron couldn't understand what Elvis was saying, the growl he responded with and the surprised eyes Celeste threw at him spoke volumes.

He just knew that the dragon was serious about his condition. He wanted to laugh because who does that? Celeste was his mate, his queen, and Elvis was making it seem as if she was equally his as well. And he didn't like the idea of sharing her with anyone, man or beast.

However, he understood that Elvis met her first, and they share a bond. He was willing to make an exception. Only for the dragon to be demanding he leaves without her. Impossible.

"Elvis!" Celeste called out his name with a disbelieving tone, rousing Veron's curiosity. His eyes, which were still fixed on the large golden ones, shifted only for a moment to Celeste before returning to the dragon.
