The memories of the past faded and Karina was brought back to the present. She blinked as the gold color cleared up from her eyes and the golden hue around her dispersed. 

But her body was visibly trembling as her eyes remain locked with Elvis's.

Veron, who had stopped approaching her the moment her past memories started filtering in, had his brows tightly knitted, and jaws clenched. 

He wasn't sure if it was because he now had access to her mind as a result of the completed marking and mating process, or if it was for another reason, but together with her memories, came memories he had forgotten. Memories of who he was, his entire life, and how he died in the past.
