บท 163: Always be with you

All the while, Celeste watched in awe. Her grandmama Monique was the chief medicine maker in their clan, but she had never seen the way the medicines were prepared. So what Salma was doing was fascinating to her. She was so small, yet she knew such things.

"Here. Make him drink it all." Salma extended the jar to Celeste, and the latter collected it. 

"Open up, Elvis." She made Elvis drink the concoction, and he accepted it without complaint. That, added to the fact that he was so cool with Salma's presence, made Celeste feel at ease with the witch. Elvis was a good reader of people's intentions. So since he wasn't aggressive toward her, it could only mean her intentions were pure.

"How old are you, Salma?"

"Eight."

"Really? I'm eight too." Celeste announced.

Salma's large, green eyes brightened up in excitement. "We could be friends. Yes. Let's be best friends."
