That morning, Karina woke up a little late as she couldn't sleep immediately. After sleeping for more than five hours at Veron's house, she stayed awake until when it was almost dawn before sleep finally came.

By the time she woke up again, Nori had already gone out for her research, but she kept food ready for when Karina would wake up.

After eating and working on their research schedule, Karina decided that it was better to go early to Veron's place since he said he would be off work today.

At first, she wasn't interested in the gun training, but now, she was beginning to enjoy it. It felt nice doing something that was not school-related for once.

She was aware that she shouldn't be doing this, much less enjoying it, but at the moment, there was a kind of freedom it brought to her, which she hadn't enjoyed for a long time now.

On reaching Veron's house, she met Barry, as usual. He welcomed her as he always does and ushered her in.
