บท 33: Do it now

In a dimly lit and moist basement somewhere on the outskirts of the city, Chloe's body jolted and her eyes snapped open when she felt the chilling sensation of ice-cold water on her skin.

Before she could familiarize herself with her current environment, another splash of water reached her face, making her draw in a sharp breath and shut her eyes for a moment. She lowered her head instantly to prevent another splash from reaching her face.

Apart from the cold water, some pieces of solids hit her face at the same time as the water. Only when she opened her eyes did she discover that there were pieces of unmelted ice in the water as she caught sight of a few resting on her thigh.
