บท 6: Chapter 5
CHAPTER 5
She entered the office looking all glamorous and exquisite, wearing a very short black round skirt with a fitted black turtle neck before topping it with a dark red jacket and dark red thigh high boots.
Her lips were also painted dark red earning her a seductive look. Her smooth jade-like skin was highlighted, thanks to the dark-coloured clothes she wore.Her round ocean blue eyes showed mischievousness yet her face portrayed the word; Innocence.
Her Innocence wasn't something she could hide no matter how she tried.
Her long blonde hair was packed into a pony tail with strands falling at the right and left side of her cheeks, adding to her adorability.
He had to give it to her, she was a very stunning woman.
Lyka on the other hand without being asked to, sat on the seat in front of his desk.
"Why are you here?" he asked in his calm but authoritative voice.
She exhaled a little before she began..
" I'm here to tell you that I'm not interested in the wedding." she paused to gauge his expression before she continued."We barely know each other and so it's absurd for us to get married. I also don't love you and I'm not ready to be tied down by any marital responsibility". she paused again and stared expectantly, waiting for him to say anything but Nolbett only stared at her.
"Look, I know me suddenly coming to your office and saying all these is rude but I just can't spend the rest of my life with someone I don't love and barely know, I am still young and I have many things to achieve before I ever get married, so please, stop this wedding". she explained pleadingly but still, Nolbett said nothing.
Trying so hard to prevent erupting in anger,she said with clenched teeth.
"I'm sure you are not mute because you just spoke to me seconds ago,so talk already, your silence is starting to piss me off".she remarked rudely.
"Have we met before?"he asked not even bothered by the extremely furious expression on her face.
"What?"
"I can see that you are not using a hearing aid so I can assume that your ears are completely fine".he said so plainly like he hadn't just said anything rude.
'This guy seriously has no manners' Lyka thought staring angrily at him. She bit her lower lip and exhaled briefly, an act she does when she is very furious but needs to suppress her anger.
"Seriously?,like seriously?, I have been trying to explain something important to you since I walked in but you ignored me, and when you decided to talk, you are flirting with me?" she sounded so confident and the smugness in her words were clear.
"Flirting?"he quirked an eyebrow.
"Don't try to play dumb with me, that is what every guy says when they want to flirt with a woman".
Nolbett chuckled at the absurd stuffs she said, wondering where the hell she heard the shit she was saying.
"You are a beautiful woman, I must say, Miss Osvaldo, but unfortunately for you, I am not interested in any woman, nor interested in you".he said apathetically and continued his work on his laptop.
"What?, so the rumors were true, you are gay?" Lyka gasped.
Her again absurd words startled Nolbett, and he froze, slowly looking up to meet her gaze, his gaze silently asking for explanation.
"That's what everyone says". she defended herself, though not having the courage to look into his eyes this time.She knew that was quite rude, even if he was gay, she wasn't supposed to say it that way.
"Had no idea the public was interested in my sexual orientation, it's a pity I won't be able to prove the truth to them, but after our wedding night, I believe you will be able to explain it to everyone on my behalf, right Miss Osvaldo?". he requested with a 'kind' smile but Lyka didn't see it as a kind smile, it looked more of creepy than kind.
"Are you crazy, how could you say such words?"she asked feigning anger to cover the embarrassment she felt.
He stared at her for a few seconds, as if trying to study her, before he spoke.
" I've come to realize something about you Miss Osvaldo,you are very delusional and love to create facts on your own. I have no interest in you,nor other women,nor men". he said looking all serious this time.
"Ahh" she gasped and casted him a suspicious look as she whispered with squinted eyes, "you are a pedophile?"
He said nothing but stared at her with an unfathomable expression making Lyka feel guilty.
"I'm sorry" she apologized quietly but sincerely though Nolbett said nothing and continued his work making her feel more guilty. She decided to use this to her advantage.
"See, we don't even get along, that's more reason why we should stop the arranged marriage".she suggested choosing her words carefully this time, hoping he agrees.
"Perhaps you are right, we really don't get along"
"Exactly!,so we should call off the wedding. We are supposed to meet at my dad's place for dinner tommorow. We can use that opportunity and you will tell my father you don't want this wedding anymore". she explained eagerly.
"Why can't you break it off yourself?"he wondered, Couldn't she stand up to her father and break it off herself?
"I can't and that is why am here asking for your help. You will be there right?"
"Yes"
""Great, thanks a lot. We should end everything and go our separate ways. I will still pretend to be interested in the wedding, so you will be the one to break it off, okay?"she jumped into conclusion.
"I didn't....."
"I'll take my leave now, don't want to disturb you any further". she said and smiled before she stood up not bothering to listen to what he had to say.
"Good bye, Mr Revaz " she ended and walked out.

"Told you he is not gay". Chantelle said boastfully to Tacha for being right about Nolbett Revaz.
"Whatever, he isn't interested in women too" Tacha fired back not ready to accept defeat.
Lyka's childish friends never ceases to amuse her. She just told them what happened at Nolbett's office and all they could do is to bicker about who was right or not.
"Guys!"she snapped at them finally ending their argument.
They both turned away from each other and looked at Lyka who handed them a cup of coffee each.
"So tomorrow, he is going to end everything?"
"Yes, I didn't even carry out our plans, never expected that what I did was going to work out, I am very happy"
"You are sure he is gonna end everything tommorow right?" Tacha asked worriedly, she felt something was off.
"Ugh, Tacha, be positive"Chantelle groaned at her
"I am, I just find it weird that he agreed that easily".
"Thanks for your concern but trust me, he is gonna end it tommorow" Lyka said so confidently that Tacha was convinced.
"If you say so then. I'm happy for you" she said sincerely.
"Thanks".
"Since all our problems are solved, let's party!!!". Chantelle screamed as the girls screamed in return,all dropping their coffees.
Minutes later, loud music was being played and expensive wines opened as they all danced, enjoying their little party.

Rex walked into the bar, his eyes scanning around, hoping he could get a glimpse of the blonde beauty from five days ago.
He had been coming to this bar ever since then, but he still couldn't find her, it was like she disappeared into thin air. His manly pride couldn't accept the way she treated him and he knew she was either very wealthy or had a strong backup as he couldn't get any information about her.He could have asked Derrick,who was a very renowned hacker for help, but he didn't want them teasing him again, so he could only result into this.
Nevertheless, he walked up to his favorite spot.
"What can I get you?"the handsome bartender asked with a smile.
"The usual" he replied and the bartender chuckled, he seemed depressed today.
Almost every one in the bar knew Rex Dorsey, he was the coolest, richest and probably most handsome guy in the bar, but surprisingly,they all knew nothing aside that, it was almost impossible to meet him outside the bar, it was like he vanishes every time he leaves the bar.
"Something bothering you?" the bartender asked as he served Rex's drink.
"Not really, just pissed off about something" he replied disinterestedly, drowning himself in alcohol.
"Woman, I presume" the bartender guessed and poured him a shot but Rex didn't reply, he only stared at the guy like he was some boring piece of art. He was about to say something when he saw her, the woman he had been looking for. He immediately stood up and ran towards the direction he had seen her, desperately hoping she hadn't vanished again. But it seemed luck wasn't on his side, she had disappeared, again!

Feeling nervous about what was going to happen in the next few hours, Lyka waited in the car for some minutes, regulating her breath to ease her nervousness.
"Everything would be fine. Stop being so nervous". Tacha who was also in the car with her assured, making Lyka to eventually relax.
"Okay. Wish me luck"she demanded
"Good luck bestie!" Tacha wished as Lyka finally smiled. She hugged her friend before she left the car. Tacha who had just dropped Lyka off soon left for work as Harry's company wasn't quite far from his house.
Lyka was wearing a black off the shoulder bandage gown which accentuated her curves, her hair styled into a soft twisted updo bun and no make-up on her face save the lipstick and still, she looked gorgeous.
"Yo sister!" She heard behind her. She didn't have to turn around to know who it was, who else?, if it wasn't her annoying little sister. She wasn't in the mood for her sister's annoying tantrums so she decided to ignore her and walked away, but her sister wasn't probably buying that as she walked up to Lyka and stood in front of her, deliberately stopping her.
Lyka just stared at her, not interested in whatever her sister was trying to do.
"Just came back from abroad, shouldn't you be more friendly?, After all, you are the reason why I'm back?" She sounded like she cared but Lyka knew very well that she only trying to mock her.
Lyka ignored her again and tried to leave but Kyra blocked her path again taking predator's step closer.
"Do you know that I was supposed to be the one to get married?"she asked with a smug as Lyka narrowed her eyes in confusion.
"Of course you didn't,I begged, cried and threw tantrums and guess what my sweet dad did?, He left me off the hook and put you on instead, isn't that awesome?"she mocked again and laughed hysterically before walking off leaving Lyka dumbfounded.
Why was her father so mean to her? ,So it was Kyra that was supposed to get married initially but because she refused, he had forced it on her. She felt really hurt and disappointed but she decided to brush it off, Nolbett was gonna end everything anyway.
Just as she was about to finally leave for the dinning, Nolbett entered, looking all handsome and charming,,with two bodyguards behind him. He wore a slim-fitting tailored suit which highlighted his broad shoulders and slender waist. His white shirt was fully buttoned and his black suit complemented his fair skin, all together making him look gorgeous.
"Hey Nolbett," she called casually.
He paused and turned to look at her, "Don't forget what I told you. I'll be willing and you will be the one to reject me, okay?" She said to remind them of their'plans'.
"Miss Lyka,I guess you are mistaken about....."
"We'll talk about that later, let's settle this first" she cut him short politely and walked away not bothering to listen to his words, again.
