บท 4: Chapter – 4 Lavinia’s Decision
"Don't f*ck with me!" A blonde hair fat woman shouted at a middle-aged man, and added in a loud tone, "Hina was your sister Jacob! As her brother, isn't it your responsibility to take care of her orphaned daughter!?"
"Why the hell is it only my responsibility!?" the middle-aged man named Jacob retorted back with a question, and added, "When your husband is Lavinia's direct paternal Uncle, he is equally responsible for taking care of Lavinia as I am!"
"That girl keeps talking about her weird doll all the time… And you expect us to adopt her after witnessing everything yourself?? I am telling you, that girl is either crazy or she is bewitched by some evil spirit! I can't even tolerate her in my sight, it would be better if we give her to the church… at least there they would be able to cleanse her soul!" a man in his late forties said while exhaling a puff of smoke.
Hearing all these comments about her, and knowing the fact that no one is willing to adopt her, the young Lavinia curled up in her bed as tears flowed down her cheek, "Mommy… Daddy… why did you leave me? I miss you!"
While Lavinia was crying, suddenly a bright light appeared in her room and attracted her attention.
With wet eyes, she looked in the direction of the light and noted a complex pattern of silver color on the floor of her room from which bright greenish light was coming out.
Lavinia looked confused, not understanding what was happening and why suddenly there was so much light in her room.
As time passed, the glow became brighter and brighter and soon took the form of a young boy who smiled at her and said, "Hey!"

"Hey!" Novachrono greeted the young Lavinia with a smile.
Lavinia looked at Novachrono in surprise, she rubbed her eyes several times to make sure that a boy really did appear in her room, and after she was certain, she asked him, "Who… who are you?"
"Me?" muttered Novachrono while pointing at himself, and then replied, "My name is Novachrono, you can call me Nova…"
"Nova?" muttered Lavinia.
Novachrono nodded, "Yup, that's me." Then asked, "And what about you? What's your name?"
Lavinia pointed at herself, "My name?" then answered, "I am Lavinia Reni."
Novachrono said, "Lavinia, it's nice to meet you."
Lavinia pointed at him, and asked, "Nova… how did you suddenly come to my room?"
Novachrono answered with a chuckle, "Hahaha… oh that, I came here using Magic."
"Using Magic?" muttered Lavinia in surprise.
Novachrono nodded, "Yup." And asked, "Do you want to see magic?"
Surprised and curious, Lavinia nodded excitedly, "Yes, can you show me?"
Novachrono smiled, "Of course." And flicked his fingers.
Snap!
Immediately after Novachrono flicked his fingers, the surroundings changed.
The room transformed into an endless garden with countless flowers in it. There was a tree house behind the two of them and two swings tied on it.
Seeing the beautiful scenery Lavinia was surprised and looked at Novachrono in amazement, "This is…"
Novachrono proudly stood before her, and asked, "What do you think?"
"It's so beautiful." She said, and ran towards the flowers. Novachrono smiled and closely followed her.

Over the course of next few hours, Novachrono showed Lavinia a bunch of magics that mesmerised her, he made her fly and took her on a ride through the clouds on Pegasus, then he took her on an under-water exploration tour where they saw a lot of mermaids. Novachrono and Lavinia had their lunch in the Chocolate Island where everything was made up of chocolate whether land, river, or mountains. After that the two of them rode through the fairy forest on unicorns.
Overall, it was the best experience of Lavinia's life, she was extremely happy.
When the two of them got tired, and no longer had any energy left they sat on the swing tied on the tree.
While sitting on the swing, Lavinia looked at Novachrono for a while and asked, "Nova, are you a… fairy?"
Hearing Lavinia's question, Novachrono chuckled lightly, "A fairy huh?" and chose not to answer her. What he is? It is a little difficult for the current Lavinia to understand. He can tell her that he is not a fairy, instead, he is a devil, however, he doesn't want her to think that he is some kind of villain from the fairy tales. And since it would be quite difficult to explain a nine-year-old human girl about the myths and legends of this world, so it is better to let her think whatever she wants.
Novachrono believes that there is no problem if Lavinia thinks of him as a fairy. It doesn't make any difference.
Novachrono didn't answer, Lavinia didn't ask again. She believed that Novachrono really is a fairy.
As the two continued to sit in silence, Novachrono suddenly looked up, and called out, "Lavinia."
She looked at him, and tilted her head, "What is it?"
"I have been meaning to ask this for a while." He said, then pointed at something beside her, and asked, "What is that thing behind you? It has been following us wherever we go."
"Behind me?" muttered Lavinia with a confused expression, she looked behind only to notice her doll and no one else, and couldn't help but ask doubtfully, "What are you talking about? No one is behind me!" Obviously, Lavinia didn't think that Novachrono was talking about her doll, after all, other than her, no one can see it.
Novachrono squinted his eyes, and asked while pointing at something behind Lavinia, "Huh? Then what is that? It looks like a very big doll to me… Don't you see it? I saw it when I appeared in your room, and it has been following us everywhere we go."
Novachrono's question stunned Lavinia, she stared at him wide-eyed and asked, "Nova… can you? Can you see it? Can you see the doll?"
Nova nodded, "Of course, I can see it…" and asked with a confused expression, "Am I not supposed to see it?"
Lavinia nodded repeatedly, "Yes… I mean no." and added, "You are the first person who can see it other than me! Even mommy and daddy couldn't see her."
"Eh? Is that really so?" asked Novachrono with a surprised expression.
Lavinia nodded, "Yes."
Novachrono folded his hands over his chest, and said with a thoughtful expression, "That's strange, I can see her perfectly."
Lavinia nodded, "Yes, it is." Then said lightly, "But it makes me happy that there is someone else other than me who can see it."
Novachrono muttered, "You think?"
Lavinia nodded, "Yes." Then said with a smile, "You are the proof that it really exists, it's not just my imagination. I am not crazy as everyone says."
Novachrono muttered, "I see."
Lavinia nodded with a smile, and the two sat in silence.

As the two sat in silence, Novachrono suddenly jumped off the Swing, and said, "It's getting late, I think you should go back to your home." Then he flicked his fingers and both of them returned back to Lavinia's room.
Finding herself back in her room, Lavinia looked lonely and dejected.
Nova looked at her and said, "Well, I guess I should also go, it was nice meeting you."
Shocked at Novachrono's sudden farewell, she quickly asked, "Nova, are you going home?"
Novachrono nodded, "Yes."
"Will you come back to play with me again?" she asked while looking at Novachrono, hoping that he would say yes.
Novachrono smiled bitterly and shook his head, "I am afraid that won't be possible Lavinia. Our worlds are different, so it won't be possible for me to come again and again here. Today was an accident that I came here, it won't be possible next time."
Lavinia got teary eyed and said, "Please Nova, please come to see me. I want to play with you again." For her, Novachrono is her first friend, she didn't want to lose him.
Seeing her teary expression, Novachrono sighed, "This is not in my hands."
Lavinia immediately said, "In that case… please take me with you…"
Novachrono looked at Lavinia with a surprised expression, and asked, "You want to come with me?"
Lavinia nodded, "Yes… please take me to your world Nova, I want to play with you."
"Take you with me huh?" Novachrono muttered, and added with a thoughtful expression, "This is not impossible."
"Then please do!" said Lavinia, with a hope in her eyes.
Novachrono looked at her, and said with a serious expression, "Are you really sure about this? Once you come with me, there is no turning back, the world of humans will no longer be your home… you will forever become mine, mine and mine alone… knowing this do you still want to come with me?"
'Aunt and Uncle won't really care if I were to disappear, in fact, they will be happy… so I should only care about my happiness, being with Nova, I will be happy.' such a thought appeared in her mind, and she nodded, "Yes, regardless of the consequences I want to come with you."
Novachrono said with a smile, "If that's your final decision, then I will gladly accept you as a member of my peerage."

Hey y'all, it's been a while since I last updated, was busy with a lot of things. Anyway, here's the latest chapter.

What piece should Lavinia Reni take in the peerage, initially I was planning to make her Queen, considering her role in the Slash/Dog team in the cannon, but after reading the comments, I am a little confused.
