บท 95: Chapter 95 - Hidden Quest

In the wasteland,
It has been a month since Lev and the others started living together in Tsubaki's apartment. This month has been a blissful month for Lev after all his lovers started getting used to everyone's presence and finally got along with each other, especially Alisa who started living with them.
At this moment, Lev and his unit members could be found taking on a mission somewhere in the wasteland. They have been doing this work non-stop after Alisa's condition returned to normal with the help of Lev's special treatment.
"Lev, are you okay?" Kanon suddenly asked upon seeing Lev was acting strange following their arrival in this place. After a month, she saw the improvement of her marksmanship and she was very grateful to Lev for helping her with that. She decided to pay him back for what he did by working very hard on every mission.
"I feel a little bit off today." Lev then just replied. He felt something really bad would happen however, he couldn't think what it was and was bothered by it.
"Let's wrap this up and head back immediately." Lev then announced not just because they finished their quota but also upon seeing that the rain wouldn't stop pouring down. Following that, he then started thinking and recalling back all that happened in the original story wanting to find out if he had missed something.
Hearing the order, Sia and the others then immediately wrapped up before following Lev toward their vehicle and leaving the place afterward.

On the vehicle,
As the rain continued pouring down, Lev could hardly drive properly. He has been driving on the way back to the headquarters while the others were at the back talking to each other. They were pretty much in peace when suddenly Lev got a call coming from the headquarters.
"Captain Lev, can you hear me? This is Hibari from the headquarters. A rescue mission has been ordered." Hibari said worriedly from the communication device.
"This is Lev. Give me the details." Lev then immediately replied as his heart suddenly beat faster than normal after hearing what Hibari just said. He has been bothered by this uneasiness and it now came to light.
"Sakuya and the others encounter a powerful Aragami on a mission. I will give you the details and location immediately." Hibari replied in a hurry as Sakuya's situation must have been very dire as their signal suddenly cut off.
Following that, Lev then immediately looked at the monitor on the vehicle before stopping the car. Sia and the others, meanwhile, also stopped talking at the back and looked at Lev thinking why he stopped.
Not before long, Lev and Hibari then talked for a while before Lev looked at the back and gave a sudden order.
"Listen to my instructions. A rescue mission has been ordered from the headquarters and I want you all to get ready. Dyaus Pita has resurfaced again." Lev seriously said as he got out of the car. That was when he remembered the event for which time Dyaus Pita originally resurfaced and he felt very bad about it since he had always thought that such a scene wouldn't happen this time around because there were very many things that had been changed.
'Fate really was unstoppable. Fortunately, I have left something in Sakuya with my imprint on it.' Lev thought. He had known about the theory of the "Butterfly Effect", and he also supported such an idea, however, looking at how things going on right now, such a thing might not always be right. There will always be an event that won't change and is avoidable no matter what you do.
With that, Lev together Sia, Shio, Alisa, and Kanon, who were inside the car, disappeared in the area leaving behind a dagger that fell to the ground afterward.

In the wasteland,
Somewhere in the wasteland, four people could be seen doing their best fighting against an Aragami but no matter what they did, they could only evade its attack while retreating after seeing that they couldn't even leave a scratch on its body. Given the terrible terrain and the rain, they could even hardly fight.
"Reinforcements will be coming soon. We just need to hold on a little longer!" Sakuya shouted wanting to give them hope even after seeing how helpless they were toward the Aragami and the only thing that they could do was to dodge and keep on running.
"Sakuya, isn't this the Aragami that Lev encountered a while back?" Eric suddenly asked while he continued firing his God Arc while retreating. They were actually just doing a normal mission and yet they couldn't believe that their luck run out after encountering such a monster.
"I think it is." Sakuya replied. The illustration of Dyaus Pita has been circulated among the God Eaters back in the headquarters so that they could immediately respond if they encounter it and report it back to the base.
"Lenka, Kota retreat back to the building." Sakuya immediately ordered upon seeing a building on their back. Aside from the Illustration, they were also given the order to immediately retreat upon seeing it and if possible stay alive until the reinforcement arrived.
Following that, the rest of the group then heeded her instruction without any thought as they retreated back to the building with their adrenaline activating as the thought of wanting to live got the best of them.
Meanwhile, Lev and the rest of his unit members finally appeared in the area but they couldn't find any sign of fighting as all they could see was a pool of blood and several severed body parts that was scattered in the place.
All of them especially the girls felt bad while looking at it before they started looking at the surroundings. They were holding their God Arcs tightly with their expression getting bad as they thought they might be already late.
...Boom...
Suddenly, a loud sound then echoed throughout the place prompting them to immediately look and run toward the place and there they saw a sudden hole in the building not far from them. Moments later, four people could be seen running through it.
"Immediately help unit 1 and retreat back!" Lev ordered in a shout upon seeing that it was Sakuya and the others. He felt very glad upon seeing them still alive before his expression then turned serious while looking through the hole.
Without further ado, Sia and the others then started running while holding their God Arcs and weapons. Lev also already summoned Infinities in his hands ready to engage in battle and finally end this cat-mouse relationship.

On the other side,
"It's Captain Lev!" Kota who was running with his life on the line suddenly shouted after seeing Lev and his unit members running on their way. He hasn't felt this scared before and he has long thought that he was going to die.
Meanwhile, Sakuya and the others also looked at them and couldn't help but smile seeing that the reinforcement had finally arrived but they were still uneasy as they doubted whether they could deal with the Aragami.
After their rendezvous, Sia and the others then immediately helped the others while Lev was waiting for the Aragami to get out and it didn't take long before it roared loudly and destroyed the whole building in the process.
Lev then looked at it with a smile. Now that he knew that Sakuya and the others were fine, he no longer felt the uneasiness and was filled with anger instead. The latter, on the other hand, suddenly paused after seeing him which didn't stay any longer, and ran in the opposite direction immediately.
"Sakuya, bring the others back to the headquarters. Sia, follow and protect them on the way." Lev then said as he wanted them to leave the place immediately so that he could focus on killing Dyaus Pita. He knew from experience that Dyaus Pita is viscous and that it would attack the others if it was cornered.
"H-How about you?" Sakuya then asked after hearing what he said.
"I'll promise to kill it this time." Lev declared. He then was about to run when suddenly someone grabbed his hand and made him stop. He looked at who it was and saw Alisa looking at him with conflicted emotions.
"C-Can I come with you?" Alisa suddenly asked. Dyaus Pita was the Aragami that she hated the most and she knew that she could not kill it herself. She believes that she would only be a hindrance but even still, she wanted to help and wanted to witness the end of it with her own eyes.
Lev then just looked at Alisa and saw that she was serious very about it. He sighed before looking at Sakuya and the others.
"See you back in the headquarters." Lev then bid farewell before running together following the direction which Dyaus Pita had run off to. He also wasn't in a hurry since he already left behind an imprint during their last encounter.
Seeing Lev and Alisa leaving, Sakuya and the others did not even stop them and just waited for them before they couldn't see them anymore.
"Let's head back." Sakuya then said as per Lev's order and could only believe in him. Meanwhile, Kanon and others just looked in the direction that Lev and Alisa headed before helping the others back to their vehicle and leaving the place once and for all.

In the mountains,
Following the tracks that Dyaus Pita left behind, Lev and Alisa found their way deep into the mountain where a trace of broken trees could be found. It was something pretty rare for anyone to see since it was impossible for them to grow given how the world had changed.
"Wait! Alisa, always stay on alert and don't touch the trees." Lev then immediately said as he remembered this place since it was also being featured in the anime and touching them without knowing what they were could kill anyone, whether they were a human or Aragami.
Hearing Lev's words, Alisa then nodded before gripping her God Arc tightly while looking at the surroundings with caution however, she was still very surprised to see that there were still trees on Earth.
Following that, Lev and Alisa then just walked cautiously while looking at the surroundings when suddenly they heard people shouting and gunfire from the distance. Without waiting a second, the two of them immediately run and follow the direction of the sound.
Not before long, Lev and Alisa could now see Dyaus Pita seeing it destroying the camp hidden at the foot of the mountain. Several cries and shouts could be heard as it hungrily hunts them down with its vicious-looking face.
"Shit." Lev couldn't help but curse thinking how it turns out like this. Alisa, on the other hand, was already shaking upon remembering something again from the cries and shouts coming from the people. Not wanting to let it rampage anymore, he left his imprint on the nearby tree before hurriedly holding on to Alisa and using Flying Thunder God Technique afterward.
In an instant, Lev and Alisa appeared in the camp. The people who tried fighting back were very surprised upon seeing two humans appear all of a sudden. They all looked with surprise, wary, and hatred before hearing a loud roar from the Aragami.
"Alisa, wake up and help them with this." Lev said as he threw out a pouch and without waiting for everyone to react, he touched Dyaus Pita as they vanished once again leaving them in a trance not knowing what was happening.

In the mountains,
At this moment, Lev could now be found fighting against Dyaus Pita. Holding Zabimarus in his hands, he cleared off the mutated trees in the surroundings as they were blocking his way.
Dyaus Pita, on the other hand, kept on roaring as it already tried running away but found itself getting back in the mountain for no reason so it could only retaliate against Lev seeing it already unleashing its wings while firing off lightning bolts.
"Don't think you can run away this time, Pita." Lev said before holding Zabimaru tightly. He has been using them together with Armament Haki all this time but can only manage to inflict some wounds and doesn't seem enough to kill.
"Ban----kai!" Not wanting to hold back anymore, Lev then used a skill which a powerful aura then come out of his body. It's too strong to the point that the trees, cut down or not, were being forced to fly and even made Dyaus Pita back off.
Not before long, the aura then suddenly ceased to exist from which Lev could be found being circled by two snake-like skeletons with him at the center. He then followed, "Hihio Zabimaru!"
Not knowing what was happening, Dyaus Pita felt a great threat coming from Lev and so it immediately ran off the place however, before it could get away, it suddenly howled in pain upon being plummeted to the ground after one of the Zabimaru bit its neck.
Dyaus Pita tried to struggle when suddenly it saw another Zabimaru from the sky forming a concentrated energy in its mouth. Not before long, it then saw its end upon seeing the other Zabimaru releasing its attack down.
Such attacks cause the whole mountain to shake for five seconds before turning back to normal from which Lev then could be found standing alone in the area with Hardened Zabimaru circling back around him.

Seeing the notification, Lev didn't have the courage to smile upon seeing their fight destroy the mountain. He knew for a fact that this mountain and the trees growing on it served as the protection the people had from Aragami. However, before he could think deeply about what to do, the system answered all his worries.

Lev did not expect to complete a hidden quest. He looked at rewards from which he couldn't help but smile widely thinking that it was the solution for his worried. He then turns around and runs back to the camp to see the situation of the place.

In the camp,
Meanwhile, the situation in the camp could be said to be bad seeing how Dyaus Pita makes a mess of the place seeing houses on fire, etc. The people, however, didn't dwell deeply on it seeing them moving all the dead bodies or more like dead body parts in the open field wanting to send them off peacefully.
Alisa, on the other hand, could also be found helping the injured people by giving them each of the magic beans that Lev has given her. With its magical capabilities, several people felt grateful for her help before all of them shifted their gaze toward the mountain upon feeling the shaking.
Everyone was nervous as to what was happening before suddenly things turned out normal and not before long, they then saw Lev running down the mountain. With that, the leader or leaders of the group then hurriedly come and meet him so they could know what was happening.
Lev has already anticipated it and told them everything that happened. Following this, he then also helps around the place wanting to compensate his being late which caused quite a tragedy.
After that, Lev and Alisa then joined everyone in mourning the dead before forcing themselves to return to normal. Lev was invited to join them on a building leaving Alisa to deal with the injured and help renovate the place.

In a building,
Lev could now be found together with the acting leaders of the camp seeing them having a solemn conversation as to what will happen to them now knowing what the mountain has become and so they like to hear the person who has saved them from such a calamity.
"Are you really Lindow's friends?" One of the people suddenly asked confirming if they were really his friend since Lindow was a person they could call a "Hero". They were the people who were being abandoned by humanity and weren't chosen to live inside Fenrir, and only Lindow reached out for his help and settled them in this place.
"Yes. I'm Lev and the girl with me is called Alisa. We were in the same unit with Lindow before." Lev then replied and acted kindly knowing that they were cautious toward the people from Fenrir.
"But we're not here for that. I know this place will become dangerous soon since the thing that protected this place is now gone however, you don't have to be worried since I already have a solution for this." Lev followed since he had long guessed as to why they wanted to talk to him.
Lev, with the Force Summoning Card in his hand, was completely certain that this place would be the safest place on Earth. Each one of his summons has already achieved Godhood, calling any one of them would be enough to wipe out all the Aragamis around and save this planet once and for all.
Hearing Lev, all the people inside were anticipating what kind of solution he had and so they waited for him to continue to talk which Lev could only answer and brief them on what was about to come before finally ending the meeting so they rest for the day and prepare for the night.
