"Watch your step. I might have huge reserves of mana, but I want to conserve what I can so that means I'm keeping things simple. The platforms I make will be sturdy, but I'll be keeping them small and they'll be wet."
The others nodded, not wanting to push the issue. About half an hour had passed since they arrived at the basin's edge and most of the time since had consisted of a fair deal of arguing. The staunch difference between the mana-rich zone and the surrounding forest had put everyone on edge and made it clear that, no matter what they had come to accept in theory, seeing the thing in reality made everything feel far more concrete.
Wooo! Longer chapter and one I had a lot of fun writing. Honestly, I wasn't expecting basically anything in this chapter. I planned for the ambient mana to affect Dahlia and Bessie and I planned on Sabrina having mixed feeling about the place but... that's it. But then things just kinda got away from me and the book started writing scenes on its own.
Being a writer is weird sometimes, but damn can it be fun.
Anyway, as a side note, I signed up for December's release event and I plan to release 5 chapters all on the same day on December 31st, so I hope that's something you look forward to!
And, as always, I hope you're having a wonderful day~
