After the revelation from Bella, everyone immediately recognised the ramifications. The operation performed in the city with the raiders might have failed, but the amount of damage caused and amount of resources put towards the attack were nothing to scoff at. If this were going to be repeated at even a fraction of the scale by all of the Torivald siblings, then it might be a miracle that things hadn't descended into chaos in the last week.
Without so much as a word of thanks or reassurance towards the prisoner, Valentina nodded to the others while gesturing to follow her and immediately the group began to climb out of the pit. Leaving hexes in place on Bella so that she wouldn't bleed out, Valentina decided that from here on, she had served her purpose and the Doctor would be able to have his fun, though gods only knew what twisted experiments he might do.
Well, that was hard to write!
Not only am I bad with historically reasonable logistics (or basically anything historic for that matter) which already gave me a bit of trouble, but on top of that I was still with family when writing this and my neice and nephew are *very* loud.
Hopefully this came out alright. I wanted to relay some general info with it feeling relevant and urgent but... exposition always risks being boring. Woopsie~
Next chapter will the be the first true lemon of the novel so... hopefully it's enjoyable! I'm looking forward to it and it feels a long time coming, but I know not everyone reads lemons. I'll try to keep them from being too involved in plot so that those who skip won't miss the main story.
Either way, as always I hope you're having a wonderful day!!!
