"Sophia, who is this?"
The elf guy pointed at me almost like I was some sort of foreign object. As for Sophia, she appeared quite displeased, frowning. Instead of responding to him, she turned to me with a smile.
"Just ignore him. That's what I tend to do."
I opened my mouth, but couldn't bring myself to say anything, too baffled to say anything. The elf guy appeared to share a similar sentiment, but soon spoke up, not afraid to show his grievance.
"Sophia, what are you talking about? You go out for so long and bring back this... guy? He's not even an elf, and looks ridiculous!"
In all fairness, those weren't exactly outlandish things to say. Especially when she was holding my hand tightly, very clearly trying to communicate her interest. In an attempt to defuse the situation, I spoke up.
"I'm only here due to a variety of circumstances to take a tour of this place before going back to my own place."
I don't see anything wrong with that.
